on BBC 2 last Sat 26th ..Howard Goodall’s Story of Music ...from the first sounds to early Greek talent contests!...plainsong,Gregorian chants;harmony,rhythm,including troubadours,barbershop singers (literally) hymns opera ..and the roots and connections to folk and pop music music. An amazing,informative programme.Some lovely snatches of early music.
