Hmmmmmm as usual my initial response is what an odd lot. Fern Britten is a bit of fun but can't say I'm wildly enthusiastic yet. I still think Kara and Artem were the best ever.

Sorry, celebgran, they got rid of Jerry Hall last week. No, I'm not sorry - she was boring. Glad to see Nicky Byrne getting into his stride. He will get votes for just being Nicky, so it's good that he can actually dance. Agreeable lad, though!

celebgran Sun 28-Oct-12 18:24:55

I have not seen this due to hol only flashed through first one, I like Jerry Hall due to seeing her in Graduate live in London few years ago, but not sure about her dancing she is very conceited I feel??!! maybe wrong.

Lisa Reilly seems to be doing well not sure if OH is still recording it for me, have had few mutters about me not watching stuff and memory getting used up!!

Found it way too boring live last year and seems from your comments ladies nothings change, agree Nonu Brucie was good in his day but sadly that was long ago.

annodomini Sun 28-Oct-12 18:11:15

I think some of these themes are a mistake. Halloween was just plain silly at times, though I did like the Hollywood night - more demanding because the dancing mattered more than the costumes.

merlotgran Sun 28-Oct-12 17:46:47

They'll need a mop and bucket when she finally gets voted out.

Ella46 Sun 28-Oct-12 17:46:04

I'm afraid she comes over as a bit of a wuss! grin

Frankel Sun 28-Oct-12 17:40:22

annodomini: I bow to your wisdom in Strictly matters. Michael Vaughan was indeed a surprise!

In view of my total lack of knowledge, I probably shouldn't say so but I still think Miss Pendleton gets overmarked by the judges.

Nonu Sun 28-Oct-12 17:21:49

When is Bruce Forsyth going to call it a day ? He is sooo old hat , and boring now ! [hallowen]

NannaAnna Sun 28-Oct-12 00:52:17

I'm not that bothered about most of the slebs, I just want to see Brendan every week! Don't know why, but I love him! For that reason I want Victoria Pembleton to stay in the show. More, more, more Brendan please grin

Actually, I thought James looked rather dishy as a 'silver fox' tonight! Promises of aging well I thought wink

merlotgran Sat 27-Oct-12 22:27:08

I wish they'd return to the more traditional format of the earlier series. I don't want to see a tango danced in a Hallowe'en costume. I wouldn't recognise half the dances if we weren't told what they were supposed to be. confused

Ella46 Sat 27-Oct-12 22:18:22

Is this the most boring Strictly we've ever had?
I just can't seem to be bothered about any of them really.

Pud Thu 25-Oct-12 05:07:18

Can't take to Louis at the moment, he seems rather remote. Perhaps he will grow on me. Now Nicky is much more my cup of tea!!! What with SCD on Saturday and Downton on Sunday I am in 7th heaven.

Notsogrand Wed 24-Oct-12 17:08:23

If you loathe it feetle, maybe you need to steer clear of a thread about Strictly Come Terpsichoring? smile

feetlebaum Wed 24-Oct-12 16:35:34

Perhaps I should explain that years spent in bands in various ballrooms and other venues have left me with a loathing for social terpsichore!

HildaW Wed 24-Oct-12 15:43:50

I'll let Louis win if he lets his hair grow..............I'm afraid I really dont like his 'Brazilian!

numberplease Tue 23-Oct-12 21:35:02

I`m loving Lisa Reilly`s efforts. For a big girl she`s surprisingly light on her feet.

baNANA Tue 23-Oct-12 20:18:39

I hope Louis Smith wins as he narrowly missed out on a gold at the Olympics and aside from that his dancing is shaping up well for the first couple of weeks, I like Denise but I do feel she has a slightly unfair advantage in that she has danced on the stage, I think she was in Chicago for a while.

Frankel Tue 23-Oct-12 18:46:35

Hmm. Everyone seems to agree with my DW about Jerry Hall. I also get to hear about Mark Ramprakash at home quite often as well. I didn't know ladies were so interested in cricket.

Feetlebaum: Maybe Darcey Bussel thought it would be fun, as well as lucrative, to appear on a programme with umteen million viewers who love the programme despite it's variety roots and low-brow nature. By the way, I don't think I could keep Jerry Hall, not without an enormous mortgage.

numberplease Tue 23-Oct-12 12:18:02

What sticks in my memory is Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan`s Charleston, it was brilliant. I agree about Erin losing the title for Colin Jackson, we still talk about that, even now.

Notsogrand Tue 23-Oct-12 11:21:26

Darcy's earning a great deal of money and not getting blisters with it feetle. Agree about Jerry Hall. Far too languid.

feetlebaum Tue 23-Oct-12 11:12:55

Whatever is the gorgeous Darcey Bussel doing slumming it on that farrago of a programme?

You can keep Jerry Hall...

Notsogrand Tue 23-Oct-12 11:08:05

Off to find Ramps Tango now.

annodomini Tue 23-Oct-12 10:24:04

Ah, that takes you back, doesn't it, Notso?

Notsogrand Tue 23-Oct-12 09:36:17

The link to Austin's Paso is in the 4th post on this thread anno, I watch it all the time fairly often blush

annodomini Tue 23-Oct-12 09:29:34

Will never forget Austin Healey's Paso Doublé! Certain dances live in the memory, don't they - Jill Halfpenny's jive, Mark Ramprakash's Argentine tango (smokin!).

Notsogrand Tue 23-Oct-12 09:25:15

Agree with all your comments anno. The judges were quite tough on Darren in the early weeks, then he just seemed to 'get' it and went from strength to strength. Erin & Colin's show dance was a bit embarassing wasn't it?
I still think that Austin Healey should have won!
