I've seen this film before but will watch it again and again ......

The Gay Divorcee, Swing Time, Top Hat, Shall We Dance (this is getting boring!), Valmont and Dangerous Liaisons, Pandora's Box and Diary of a Lost Girl, The General, The Navigator, and most of the ones Feetlebaum mentioned.

We watched Miss Congeniality again the other day for the umpteenth time. Sandra Bullock is very funny - and she reprised the role of awkward FBI agent recently in Heat, also very funny. Wouldn't mind watching that again. M Caine also v funny in Miss C.

The American President, an underrated film with Michael Douglas and Annette Bening. Dialogue recognisably by Aaron Sorkin, of The West Wing.

We love Silver Streak with Gene Wilder.
Also ELF with Will Ferrall.

And how could I have omitted Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Some Like It Hot?

The Jazz Singer, mainly because I've been in love with Neil Diamond for many years. .
And, Death in Venice. I don't know anyone else who likes it, but for some reason I find it absolutely mesmerising. Dirk Bogarde is wonderful, and the music (Mahler's 5th symphony), completely melancholy and beautiful.

And the musical Carousel, almost entirely due to the songs, some of the best in any musical ever, with the marvellous voice of Gordon Macrae.

I have just (literally) been and changed my profile because I had said I don't watch many films!!! I have realised that I must have watched, and thoroughly enjoyed, at least 90% of all the above mentioned!!!

Sorry, Iam64 you will think I'm stalking you if I agree with you one more time, but I also watch Brief Encounter and Singin' n the Rain at every opportunity, even though I have the DVDs now. Also, You've Got Mail, because of the end, where she meets her mystery man and his dog in the park. When it gets to the bit where he says 'don't cry, shopgirl' I'm weeping at the emotion of it all . The Harry Nielsen song sets me off!

The Lady Killers and Some Like it Hot get my vote.

When - don't feel stalked, it's interesting about similar work/interests isn't it. I haven't seen You've Got Mail, will look for the dvd - I do love Sleepless in Seattle though

I've never seen Miss Congeniality because I thought when it first came out if was just a chick flick, but I read the review in the paper last week that praised it so I wish I'd watched it. Michael Caine doesn't make bad films [and is greatly underrated imo].

Being a bit sad in my old age (!?) I enjoy cartoons again. Only the more adult ones though like Up and WallE. I'd watch them anytime I stumbled across them. Also love Scrat

Forgot Its a Wonderful Life. DH and I always cry at 12 minutes in, yes we've timed it! Aren't we sad!! The Princess Bride is also up there. I loved the book as well.

Jour de Fete and LA Story (Steve Martin). If it comes on tv I think I'll just watch the beginning . . . and I've got it on dvd anyway! Goodness knows how many times I've seen it. Same with Jour de Fete.

I bought the music from Dances with Wolves I loved it so much. Shawshank is wonderful; I liked Road to Perdition as well.

I've come late to this thread but had to mention Life of Pi as can't see anyone else has. It is the most beautiful film I have seen andI have watched it many times - never done that before!

tarotfool; we had quite a long thread about Life of Pi when it came out. I wish I'd seen it in 3D but even so I loved it in 2D. I cried when it didn't win the Oscar for best film . I bought the dvd a while back but haven't yet watched it..not sure why. It stayed with me for ages after I'd seen it. I also loved The Hunger Games, which I have actually watched several time. I'll bump up the thread if I can find it .

I also tend to rewatch the Lord of the Rings films (long versions of course).
Casablanca is definitely my favourite older film.

I was advised to watch the Directors Cut of the last LOTR's film; I haven't got it but it's on my [very long] tick list.

I think the long versions are definitely better films Tegan but they do need stamina and a comfortable chair

Just watching Bladerunner again.
