I've seen this film before but will watch it again and again ......

All the Star Trek films with the original cast in; The African Queen; King Solomon's Mines (the Stewart Grainger one); The Lion in Winter (in fact, anything with Katherine Hepburn in); She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and the Searchers; The Money Pit with Tom Hanks - I cry laughing every time I see it; A Man for All Seasons; Guess Who's Coming to Dinner; gosh, there are so many more I'd be here all night.

Mouse Hunt with Nathan Lane. I used to watch Camelot with Richard Harris and Vanessa Redgrave over and over, practically knew all the dialogue. For some reason I've been thinking about a film I saw many years ago with my mother, Kim Novak in Of Human Bondage. Maybe she watched it many times with me on her lap!

Mind you, I'd have been a bit big to be sitting on her lap still in 1964! (I just checked). Kim Novak is still around ... she was gorgeous.

A complete mismash - From way, way, back - Gone with the Wind, South Pacific and a bit more recently - The Bodyguard, Calendar Girls, Sleepless in Seattle, Dances with Wolves and I am a real sucker for the Bond films!

I forgot Local Hero - love the acting, the story and particularly the scenery; Gregory's Girl - whimsical and touching too.

The Italian job, The Railway Children, The Great Escape and Singing In The Rain. Any of the Indiana Jones films.

Most of the above but must add Cat Balou - a gem of a film.

The Railway Children. Because of Jenny Agutter's voice I think. Incredibly moving voice.
And ofcourse The Italian Job, the theme music leaves me weak at the knees, especially The Matt Monroe version. Sad, but can't help it.

Victor Victoria. Those that have not seen this, please buy it on DVD. Very uplifting film with Julie Andrews. She is sensational in this.

Witness for the Prosecution. Charles Laughton and Marlene Dietrich.

I saw The Railway Children on telly about a year ago and realised I'd never watched it before in it's entirety. Which is strange because I always thought that I'd seen it lots of times. It had sort of seeped into my consciousness. It is lovely and , as a nation we will always love Jenny Agutter because of it.

I loved The Red Shoes when I was little, though I was a little scared when I watched it, it's quite dark! My must watch films are: Brief Encounter; The Full Monty; Brassed Off (Pete Postlethwaite, the best!); Some Like it Hot, Tony Curtis was the most incredibly good looking man EVER! and any Ealing comedies such as Passport to Pimlico; The Lavendar Hill Mob...all so funny!

Love anything from the 1930's especially all the musicals with Fred and Ginger. Also have watched the Godfather trilogy a few times.

The Life of Brian, Blazing Saddles and Disney's Jungle Book - we've just bought Jungle Book for my grand-daughter and I hope she'll want to watch it a few times. The cartoons are a little dated but the songs and characters are just great for little kids - and big ones.

The Full Monty, Brassed Off and all films for children because they are so entertaining.

It's A Wonderful Life- I watch it every Christmas and still cry, High Noon, To Kill a Mockingbird, Citizen Kane, Sleepless in Seattle and all the Ealing Comedies. I also love Grease, The Railway Children and.... have to stop could go on for hours!

How could I have forgotten To Kill a Mockingbird! Flying down to Rio (ALL Fred and Ginger, in fact); Mrs Miniver; The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp; A Bridge Too Far, which had the most authentic casting of any war film I have ever seen (we watched it at a NATO base where we were stationed - the Germans on one side of the cinema and the Brits and everyone else on the other! It was all very good natured though and no-one came to blows!)

I LOVE Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. It's sooooooooo sad and lovely. And Chocolat with Johnny Depp, but I don't like any of his other films, especially Pirates of the Carribean.
To Sir With Love was fab with Sidney Poitier and Lulu.
Nowadays I can't cope with violence or sci-fi or anything really LOUD. Went to cinema to see Lord of the Rings and had to stuff tissues in my ears.

I find all films at the cinema TOO LOUD these days! I suppose it's so that the dialogue can be heard above the rustling, talking and phone ring-tones of the audience...

If this were Desert Island Films the one I would take to my desert island would be Rebecca. I was never keen on Joan Crawford, but Olivier and that old smoothie George Sanders were wonderful, and Judith Anderson was the creepiest Mrs Danvers.

All the Howard Keel musicals, almost anything with Doris Day in it, and, most of all, The Jazz Singer, starring Neil Diamond.

What's Up, Doc?, Where Eagles Dare, Airplane, all the St Trinians films, The lavender Hill Mob, The Happiest Days of Your Life, Thoroughly Modern Milly, Fantasia (the original one) and It's A Wonderful Life for Christmas time. What a lovely thread with some great suggestions!

Any Arnie film. Top Gun, Die Hard, Columbo, Witches of Eastwick, Carry on anything, Sailor Beware (Peggy Mount is wonderful), any Indiana Jones, National Treasure, Boat Trip, Rat Run, any St Trinians although I prefer the old b&w, The Ladykillers.....the list could go on and on.

I remember seeing Fantasia at the cinema when it first came out; there were people there smoking stuff that wasn't yer usual tobacco. Came out passively stoned I did ....

What - in 1940? Oh, well, I suppose it's possible... some of it was fairly trippy!

Oh crikey; I forgot it was older than that . I know I took my, then, boyfriend to see it for my nineteenth or twentieth birthday [because I was feeling down at getting so old].
