I am always a late comer to old series on Tv, now retired I am catching up. Found Sex & the City..hilarious! Even though my head spins with the number of their conquests, I love observing the interaction between the four women.
If anyone has seen it I would love to know which of the women you relate to. It does remind me how really lucky we are as women to have great friends..hooray for Girls lunches!

I am watching it for, it must be, at least the third time around. Love it, for all the female friendship and support it conveys.

Who do I identify with?

Well, Samantha is far too energetic, if you see what I mean.
Carrie doesn't half witter, but is reflective.
Miranda is always puzzled - could be me, career etc.
Senior moment - can't remember the last one.

Conclusion; none of them really, but Cariie's the nearest. Skinny B****!

Interesting Aridne..its Charlotte..she is the one I think is a bit implausible...has sex with loads of men..but is prob the most puritanical...really hilarious when she has sex with an uncircumsised man, she is shocked!!.he gets himself sorted..then he is so pleased with the results, decides he wants to try it out with other women!

I ADORE this programme and I can see it again and again on BT VIsion. I have a episode or two when DH is at bowls as he disapproves. I love the clothes and the settings of clubs, restaurants, shops and bars. I find a lot of the men quite repulsive but BIG (didnt like Aidan what a wuss!). The whole BIG story resonates with me I'm a Carrie but would have loved to have been Samantha.

I love it too Susie but (thank goodness) I'm not like any of them! grin

I always saw myself as a bit of a Carrie (including all of her whining - god knows that woman could moan for England, and I'm expecting to be called up to the Olympic moaning team any day now grin)

I like to think I have Miranda's realism though. She is definitely my favourite.

I LOVED Aidan, susie! Big is the wuss... I think!

Adored this series, have them all as my two daughters would buy them for me as they came out. It was our 'girlie' therapy to sit up on settee and watch episodes back to back and gossip about allsorts, and generally put the world to rights. They have both left home now and I hardly get to do it anymore which is sad. We adored Miranda's Wedding and loved Steve for being so tolerant. Aiden was just too good for Carrie and probably better out of it. We also loved all the interactions between Carrie and her gay best friend, they where hilarious. Oh and whats'ernames first marriage - she had the most amazing Mother in law who had huge comedy value, I can still remember the dialogue about the 'dust ruffles'. Hey ho..........happy memories.

Charlotte York married a strange man called Trey and his Mumma was Bunny.Hilarious! the Charlotte married a lovely Jewish (but bald) lawyer who loved her utterly which is what she wanted.

Oh yes Susuie.....twas Charlotte....it was a good story line because Trey (Kyle Mclaughlan) was evidently unable to er ...um......oblige for a while! Amusingly ironic given the usual story lines!

I watched Sex in the City from the very beginning when it was thought to be extremely risque compared with the safer series about at the time. I just love the support the "ladies" get from their friendship, and as it meandered along I became quite involved with the story lines. Daughter bought me the last series in boxed-set form - it ended just as I had hoped, and the warmth between the girls never faltered. Very, very satisfying - as Samantha often said! Certainly could not identify with any of the girls - not that glamorous!
