This was a truly wonderful, moving, uplifting programme. Millie's parents (Martin and Frances) and her grandparents spoke so eloquently about the effect that Millie had on their lives and how they are coping with their loss. A baby who has a life-limiting condition is all wrong in the scheme of things and the death of any baby or child is doubly so but they are things that tragically have to be dealt with. This family has had to deal with both and the faith, dignity and strength that they are drawing on is an inspiration.

It is so difficult to express how one feels on losing a grandchild and how one feels powerless to help one's own grieving children at the same time. Millie's grandparents were able to articulate this.

I listened with tears and compassion for them and for all of us who are in the same position.

Well done, Radio 4 - a difficult subject but I think dealt with in absolutely the right way.

I cannot add anything to your very eloquent account of the programme granb My heart went out to the parents and to anyone else who has or is experiencing the loss of a child. All life is valuable however short and will touch so many other lives.

I listened to the programme and was filled with sadness for the parents - they were so dignified and concerned to explain what had happened. By the time the words they used for the funeral were read out, I felt uplifted by their commitment to their little girl. So sad.
