I usually enjoy this programme, but it is being spoilt for me by the repeated showing of the chefs giving each other the evil eye! They are the same shots again and again. In the past series' there was just friendly rivalry and banter with Jennie Bond in the kitchen. I am not sure I can bear to continue watching although I like seeing the dishes made.

Yes, it's contrived and unnecessary. They are creating overblown rivalry to supposedly add to the tension. I prefer it to be friendly and show the cooking skills and creativity they have.

The series on this week seemed to be about bizarre (and I suspect inedible combinations) to justify all the 'pushing the boundaries' (a phrase I hate and they use, a lot!). I seriously doubt that some of these chefs ever actually sit down and eat their inventions. As to savoury meringue!.....someone tried it last series and it was a disaster because one of the fundamental ingredients has to be sugar( dah!), so by definition meringue is a desert element!
I'm not against high end food as such, have enjoyed the few Michelin starred meals weve had over the years but can honestly say I dont fancy anything I've seen so far.
