Hello my friends, my favourite holiday destination was Japan many years ago where my late husband and I went skiing off the mainland to Okido followed by a few days in Kyoto.we befriended a couple of Japanese Ken and Maysayo who hired a car to take us out and about we had great fun
I love being in France, but that's not really a holiday destination for me any more. We live 30 minutes from the border to Alsace and often take day trips there.
For holidays I just want to be by the sea. Proper sea, not the Baltic or the Mediterranean.
Orkney. The people are the friendliest ever and the pace of life and emptiness (apart from when the cruise ships dock in Kirkwall) is wonderfully relaxing.
The Greek islands. Had some wonderful and relaxing holidays there. (When we just switched off, swam, relaxed in the shade, read, and pottered about.) Not sure whether we'll ever go again in the summer, given the extremes with hot weather and wildfires in Europe.
I lov d driving with late DH through France and Italy and some memorable places in Spain. No longer possible now but in the UK love the more remote places in Devon Cornwall and Yorkshire moors out of season. I’m off early October!
I feel blessed to have been to many places both at home and abroad most have been wonderful in their own unique way, but the pinnacle of where I wanted to go the most was South America, I absolutely loved Buenos Aires and the Iguazu Falls on the Argentine/Brazil border.
Corfu is my favourite. I Love everything about that beautiful island. Many happy memories & good friends made there.
had many lovely holidays in Corfu but we went last year and although the hotel was fine we felt the island itself was quite rundown and neglected. Parts of it were real eyesores with semi derelict buildings, overflowing skips, trailing wires and just a bit of a sad air about it.
Santa Eulalia in Ibiza, a quiet little town. I really love it there..😎
Had 3 holidays there and loved it. The first time we went our hotel was rather out on its own but we went a few years later and it was surrounded by other hotels and businesses.

We go self catering in an apartment and haven’t been for four years but I’m going early September so hopefully it hasn’t changed too much 😎
I'll bring my bucket and spade to Slough and meet you outside Poundland Foxygloves and Chocolate lovinggran - I've heard Hemel Hempstead is nice this time of year too
JackyB one of my favourite places which we came across by chance on a road trip was Eguisheim. We found a place to stay in the middle of the village and went no further. Just pottered round the area. Always promised myself a return. I will one day. You live in a beautiful part of the world.
