I will be doing pet sitting in the Lake District in early October. As the train fare is paid by the client, I usually take advantage of being 'up North' (I live in Kent) and try to do something interesting. Last year I had a couple days in Glasgow (amazing!) and earlier this year I stayed in Liverpool (even more amazing!!!). So I've heard about the Illuminations in Blackpool but have never been, so I booked two nights in a B&B (which happened to win on Four in a Bed and is close to the seafront) but as a single lady traveller, I wonder if anyone has any specific ideas of things to do? I have noted that there are a couple of casinos that look interesting. I am no gambler, but wouldn't mind a few 50p slot machines just for fun. Would a single woman be terribly out of place? I am quite happy in restaurants and even pubs on my own - I always have something to read so I don't look like I'm scouting for company, ha ha

You could also take bus into Lytham St. Anne.
The sea front there is quite pleasant.
Last time I went it had lovely white and blue beach huts
The RNLI in Lytham is an interesting visit.
I prefer the South Shore in Blackpool
The lights are usually good.
I also think there is an open top bus ride.
There are a lot of Hen and Stag Dos with all that they entail
Blackpool is like Marmight.
