Victoria Starmer, especially, and Giorgia Meloni both chose well for the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bians in sweltering temperatures.
Brigitte Macron looks a bit stiff, but smart as usual, imo.

The Brazilian lady certainly wears the colour very well SueDonim. I don't know about you, but I'm too blond and fair for it, though it would be OK for spilling my ketchup down!

I’ve no idea where Lady S’s brown outfit came from, MT62 but it’s affordable for the masses to copy, especially if Tu have one of their 25% off promos.

MartaVTaurus I’ve read that tomato red is this summer’s colour. I like red myself but not tomato red.

I think Brigitte is the secret Trump flattery weapon! My eyes were drawn to Ursula von der Leyen’s legs in this photo, black tights look out of place in the heat.

I've an awful feeling they might even be boots! 😂
Surely not!

And then it was all change, again!

Unfortunately Victoria Starmer wore an almost identical dress to another lady in red. Luckily Lady Starmer was placed further back in the official group photo! The other lady is a "best" friend of Brigitte Macron.
This photo is from the French press. Paris Match has a better spread, but the images won't reproduce here.

I loathe wide leg trousers! I think both women look ridiculous in them. Unless you're a very tall bean pole they wear you instead of vice versa.

NotSpaghetti Wed 17-Jun-26 07:04:54

I expect he would also look cool if he was Italian!
grin

Calendargirl Wed 17-Jun-26 06:52:57

why does Macron always manage to look cool

Because he’s French?

CanadianGran Wed 17-Jun-26 01:35:34

I can't say I like any of the looks. I'm not familiar with their names, but Mrs. Starmer looks too casual, second lady in baggy suit looks overwhelmed, and Mrs. Macron, while always correct, looks a bit stiff.

I do like what Mrs. Carney wore; it looks like a off white linen shift with linen jacket with trim.

At least Lady Starmer shops where ordinary people shop. grin tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc147502486 They have the matching jacket, too.

Top lady: it was my fave anyway, but that 👍
Love the colour, she looks both comfortable and smart, like..oh, she doesnt need to make an effort and plaster on haute couture, she is just a beautiful woman naturally.

I like the trouser suits, but I’m not a fan of the very wide trouser look, I think they’d look better slightly tailored, but I like the colours. Not keen on MM outfit but think it suits her.

BM always wears nice above the ankle, slightly tapered legged trousers. Not many people can carry that look

Merci for the update MartavTaurus I think that VS is wearing a very charming dressing gown and the butter yellow trouser suit worn by GM is another Showaddywaddy outfit.
Zut alors!

😂

I agree the cream suit looks a bit too baggy but as an aside would benefit if the sleeves were pushed up slightly.

LauraNorderr Tue 16-Jun-26 20:33:14

I prefer the brown outfit to the dress on Lady Starmer but not keen on either.
IMO Mrs Carney looked the best, smart, cool, comfortable.

MT62 Tue 16-Jun-26 20:15:52

If I had lovely straight legs like BM I would wear what she is wearing. Very smart. I don’t like the other two outfits, makes them look dumpy

3 pairs of floppy trousers in my case for wearing in Puglia from Thursday onwards- lovely and cool and cover my cornbeef legs.

Very jealous... Puglia is one of my favourite places to go.
😍

I don’t think you could say she doesn’t look presentable M0nica? Her dress is modest and unremarkable. In fairness to her, she usually dresses well I would say, and has a style which is quite ethnic, absolutely nothing like that of the Princess of Wales.

Oreo Tue 16-Jun-26 17:32:57

France could def do worse than Macron👍🏻

Haha 😁
I definitely felt 'our two' got the most enthusiastic welcomes. He is very good looking!

How very shallow 🤭 ….but I fancied him myself about ten years ago.

I preferred the brown linen traveling outfit to the dress but that's just me. What I will say is from the video the Starmers were greeted with what appeared to be genuine warmth and enthusiasm by the Macrons, which can only be good for our relationship with France and by association the rest of the EU. Another reason to stick with Starmer?

So we have to stick with Starmer ‘cos he gets on with Le Macrons? 😂
Good job this is a light amusing thread.

Well I do think a good relationship with France and the rest of the EU is important for the success of the UK. We may be an island but can't survive totally apart from and indifferent to the rest of the world. Yes the 'another reason' was meant light heartedly.

Nell82 Tue 16-Jun-26 17:30:09

I'm just relieved to see the Starmers looking relaxed and happy. They were very stiff and miserable at Trooping the Colour.
