How can you be 92 and look so stunning? envy
Joan Collins at Cannes Film Festival.

Basgetti Wed 13-May-26 12:32:25

At 92, do what makes you happy.

I think she looks grotesque.
It’s amazing what a make up artist and a good wig can do but I much prefer the natural «wrinkles and all « type of face which shows character and a life well- lived of eg Judi Dench and our late Queen.

If it’s not real (and it mostly isn’t) it’s not beautiful.

I feel so much artifice shows wrong values. It is fine to be old. Look as good as you can, but don’t look fake.

wash my face

Shock! Horror!
Cleanse, tone and moisturise my dear!!

(Unlike me 😂)

I would love to be glammed up and swanning about Cannes at 92.

'Old age should burn and rave at close of day'.

Just my opinion. Depends on circumstances of course.

Yes, I'm with you on that. Good for her. I can barely be bothered to wash my face and brush my hair most days, so all power to Joanie!

Basgetti Wed 13-May-26 11:51:38

Good for her.

MissAdventure Wed 13-May-26 11:32:42

I'm convinced she has had stuff done to her face, because a few years back she was starting to get that strange look of someone who's overdone it a bit.
Perhaps it takes a while to settle, and she looks great now, but then she was always a classic beauty, anyway.
She's also very down to earth as well when she's interviewed.

I think it's fabulous that she's still 'trying'. So many older people give up as they age. She's stayed reasonably slim, has good posture. Of course she has money and lots of help. Good for her. I read that she wears wigs as her hair is very thin. The only thing I don't like about that picture is her hair. It looks better around her face a bit more. Still, what do I know?

It's a message to all those who say she must have had a face lift!

"Look, no scars, no facelift!" 😀

How do you get to 92 and look so ‘stunning’
By having a lot of spare money to spend on yourself and a lot of surgery, I don’t admire either.

She might insist she’s had no work done to her face but that is not a 90 year olds natural face, sorry, avocados or noti don’t believe her

She hasn't had a facelift - if she had you would be able to see the scars and her hair (wig?) is off her face, so no.

She may have had an eye lift, who knows, but so would I if I was brave enough.

Mary Berry looks good and I doubt she has had anything done to her face at all.

There was a gentleman on TV the other say (ex RAF pilot in WW2, I think) who was 100 and he looked far younger than that, in fact younger than me and he's old enough to be my father 😀

It's all in the genes.

I think she looks fabulous in the real sense of the word: imaginary, mythical.
She has been an actress all her life and knows how to create an illusion and I admire her for it. She also donates some of her 'old' clothes to charity, and hosted a fashion evening to promote them. Plus she has a wicked sense of humour and can laugh at herself.

Yes, that’s the stand out for me.
She’s 92 and still ‘showing up’
A true professional.
Well done Joan.

I’m with you Notspagetti but the thing that amazes me most of all in that photo is her shoes! Stilettos at 92?! I’m 80 and haven’t been able, probably thankfully, to wear them for years.

Money.
In my opinion.

rafichagran Wed 13-May-26 10:09:24

I think she looks lovely and as said above very old school glamour.

I think Joan Collins looks wonderful. She always was glamorous. Looking at the photo close up her skin looks very natural and makeup seems quite light.
I don't think we can compare her with Mary Berry. Mary is also very attractive, but not in the same way. She has never been 'glamorous'. She's more a 'Laura Ashley' type. Always looks lovely and wears her age well.
They are both lovely each in their own way.

Autumncolours Wed 13-May-26 08:23:48

I guess it depends what you’re working with - she has always been a beauty! I don’t look that good at 25 years younger.😂

Vintagewhine Wed 13-May-26 08:15:26

She's great isn't she? Such good fun who lives her life as she wants to. She seems happy with her life and looks amazing. The last time I saw her being interviewed she seemed pretty sharp too.

Kandinsky Wed 13-May-26 07:48:11

Well for a start she was always beautiful so that helps.
She’s clearly looked after herself very well but I’m sure she’s had a few little bits of Botox ( maybe not full blown face lift )
The dyed hair takes years off her too. If she had her natural grey she’d look older.
But she is lovely ( as is Joanna Lumley who’s a mere 80 )

I think that both Ms Collins and Ms Berry are a joyful antidote to ageism!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 13-May-26 07:21:41

Well done her, she is loving and living her life her way 👏👏👏

barmcake Wed 13-May-26 07:09:06

It's all down to eating avocado every day and never exposing her face to the sun. She's adamant that no surgical work has been done on her face.

If only I'd eaten those avocados!

M0nica Wed 13-May-26 07:05:56

I am ambivalent. Joan Collins is a credit to what artifice and money can buy, but Mary Berry at much the same age looks, fresher, younger and more attractive.

I am afraid there is a touch of mutton dressed as lamb in this photo.
