She is fantastic
Yes she is!
It’s just Joan Collins being her fabulous self.
How can you be 92 and look so stunning?
Joan Collins at Cannes Film Festival.

Personally, I've never really liked her overly done up look. Always thought her sister was far more attractive in a more natural way. It is her choice though and I respect that.
I am an admirer fJoan Collins and her ability to appear glamourous at any age and what many people do not seem to take on board I am happy to see someone of 92, dressing up to paint the town red.
It is just that in this dress Joan Collins has lost the plot. At her age to wear a dress that would be challenging to anyone in their 30s and team it with hair scrapped off her face so that the very heavy meakeup she always uses is so so visible, is not the way to do it. She could have looked terrfic, it is such a shame she did not.

Why do we continue to put these women under such scrutiny?
I admire any woman that gets to be so old and hasn't committed murder...!
We do it because the alterntive is to implicitly accept their presentation of womanhood as something where our greatest value is youth and we cannot honour and accept age but alwys hde it and try to look younger than we are.
If we do not call out these misrepresentaions of womanhood, who will?

How do you get to 92 and look so ‘stunning’
By having a lot of spare money to spend on yourself and a lot of surgery, I don’t admire either.
She might insist she’s had no work done to her face but that is not a 90 year olds natural face, sorry, avocados or noti don’t believe herShe hasn't had a facelift - if she had you would be able to see the scars and her hair (wig?) is off her face, so no.
She may have had an eye lift, who knows, but so would I if I was brave enough.
Mary Berry looks good and I doubt she has had anything done to her face at all.
There was a gentleman on TV the other say (ex RAF pilot in WW2, I think) who was 100 and he looked far younger than that, in fact younger than me and he's old enough to be my father 😀
It's all in the genes.
And the lovely Joan never lets the sun see her face. It’s sun that does the damage.
I've always liked Joan Collins and her wry sense of humour. It took courage for her to turn out in that outfit and I think she rose to the challenge.
In one photo it looks as if she has transparent shoulder straps. I reckon there's a thermal vest in there somewhere!

I agree Allira Looking good and glamorous is what Joan has always done since she was a teenager. It's who she is. I can imagine her thinking 'I won't stop trying until I fall off my perch'.
I agree *Kate949
It is how she is, who she is and always has been.
As is Sheila Hancock, Joanna Lumley.
Why should any of them change who they are and how they portray themselves in public?
Except there's no accent on the e. Not sure how that came up?
It troubles me that there is so much "advice" in the media on how to look younger. Which implies that there is something objectionable about the way older people naturally look.
The lucky ones amongst us get older. Why should we be made to feel we have to hide it?
high heels
Now, there's a whole story attached to high heels at the Cannes Festival, but I won't bore you with it. Just to say for decades high heels were de rigeur or obligatoires for ladies on the red carpet. In fact, I believe flats were not allowed. A decade or so ago there were protests, and Juila Roberts turned up in bare feet. I think the final compromise was that elegant shoes with heels must be worn, but they don't have to be high heels.
I've walked up the steps to the Palais des Festivals a few times in my 40s or 50s, but I wore canvas sandals and lately trainers! It's a bit of a climb.

But did anyone see Sheila Hancock, who’s 93, on TV (‘Have I Got news for you’) the other day? Now she’s someone who really is admirable and extremely bright in every sense of the word.
Nah I m with Monica on this one I think it’s all totally overblown, dress is nasty and she looks very unnatural if she hasnt had work done
Now if she was a 92 year old, still physically working or doing areobics or running or something I d take my hat off to her but standing posing in high heels and a very exaggerated dress does not make me admire her
I haven’t seen anyone suggesting you turn into an old frump when you are old !! why did you make that up Alira ?
There’s a massive difference between being a natural healthy, young looking 92 year old and that photo
Stage, films, TV series.
Like it or not women are judged on their looks in that business.

What self, in this case? A life based on how you look, books to match?
And what exactly is wrong with that?
Aely
Ye gods and little fishes, how can she look so good at 92? There is no make-up in the world that could be that good! I saw Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson in " The Great Escaper" (2023) a few days ago. Michael was 90 and Glenda a little younger at that time. They pretty much looked their age - although with me being 78, I think Glenda and I are a good match on the wrinkles. I was never much of a one for sun screen and it shows.
Great film, Aely
I think it was Glenda's last one.
Glenda was never glamorous, though, was she. She had an unusual but rather lovely face.

I know, but ahe has totally embraced the natural look.
It helps that she is such a pretty woman.

Has anyone seen Pamela Anderson of late?
She has gone totally back to a natural look.
She is blessed with a naturally lovely face, too.
She's 58!!
No comparison in age.

I best trot along to specsavers, as I stand by my earlier comment.
Old school glamour
Well done Joan for showing the world that it’s possible to be old and bold 👏👏👏
I'll come with you!
Why should anyone turn into an old frump with no makeup on when they're a nonagenarian just to please other women?
She's not going to Waitrose, she's going to the Cannes Film Festival!
