I am looking for trainers to wear with jeans and dresses. Preferably white. , not too chunky and not too expensive. Up to £80 for comfort, Any recommendations, have you bought any recently ?

I have some white Superga trainers but don’t find them very comfortable - they are a bit heavy. My favourite ones are white leather Keds which I got about 4 years ago for around £40, I think. They are less chunky than most trainers but look good with either jeans or a dress. They are very comfortable and don’t rub on bare feet,

Totally agree SnowberryZ. I like these. Stylish, comfortable and versatile. Cost £22.00 smile

I've just bought some white skechers for holiday. They're my go to brand for comfort and style. I have black for work and a gorgeous brick orange pair.

I'm such a mucky Madame I can't keep trainers white for long so prefer black or bright colours to go with what I'm wearing.

I don't like trainers at all, most especially white ones with dresses! I think they look big and clompy. Also, many years ago, I found that trainers come too high at the back and they tend to dig into my Achilles tendon so I simply never wear them. I do like converse type lace-ups but I get mine from Sainsbury's at £9 a pair. I use a VIVEsole half insoles inside them because they are very flat.

I love Nike Air Force 1. So comfortable and if you are a size 5 and under, you buy from the childrens range.
Also Nike Vision Low are good too and are currently reduced to £42 at sports direct.

Each to their own I know but I always rather resent paying large sums of money for such clumsy looking footwear! Sensible, I know, when walking (but boots are nicer!) and essential for some sports ( don’t do any!) and also essential apparently for wearing these days with floaty dresses as well as jeans! I have a few pairs but don’t look forward to replacing them like my daughters do. Prefer a nice pair of low pumps for comfort or heels for a dressy look (even with jeans-so retro now!), thank heavens I can still walk in them!

Superga do a nice plain white leather trainer

Given my Vejas to charity shop. Horrible shoes that are overrated.

I got some lovely comfy KSwiss ones from Amazon couple of years ago very similar to these, about to get a fresh new pair

Slightly over your budget at £85, but Vega trainers are trendy and comfortable. They look good with both jeans and dresses and aren’t too chunky. You might be able to get them for less with a signup newsletter discount from online retailers.
For cotton trainers I’d recommend superga.

Veja trainers are very uncomfortable and seen on every mum at the school gates. How you think they are comfortable I just don’t get. The sole has no give and the tongue is too long.

I’m a sketchers fan. I was recommended them by the osteopath when I had plantar fasciitis and they seemed to help. They are now my ‘go to’ footwear. I’ve bought them more cheaply than the shop from sports direct and I’ve also had successful buys from Amazon. Don’t have every range but def worth a look. I have dark colours for the winter but you’ve reminded me to get looking for a lighter pair for the summer.

Fitflop Rally job done !
PsFitflop I really should be on commission - I only wear your super Brand …

Granmarderby10 Mon 07-Mar-22 08:23:30

Yes Lilypops just yesterday I bought some from Sports Direct- never bothered with them before but the assistant fetched me 6 pairs in my size 8 to try on ( lucky to get 1 in most shops)
…and ended up buying Sketchers Dlite for £47 and they were right the moment I tried them on ..and other customers were saying how good they looked.

Not chunky and hideous but substantial and just perfect for the summer when all the sludge has gone

Result?

Sounds good all the advice about trainers. I had to give up laces due to a stroke but could manage velcro fastening strips instead.
I’m ok with white and didn’t realise they were all the fashion.
Where have I been, not to notice the latest fashion? ?

Just bought a Next pair of maroon trainers with a bit of gold trim, have a bunion , but pleased to see they are doing wider fit. Have worn them all w/e away, so comfy. At £35 pounds much more pocket friendly. Have never felt the need to pay £ 80 for a pair of trainers.

misty34 Mon 07-Mar-22 00:33:30

Another fan of skechers great for my bunion too!

Can't stand them. Remind me too much of school segmentation and exactly Ooops picture.

Am I missing something here - I don’t understand school segmentation confused

BigBertha1 Sun 06-Mar-22 22:18:16

Mint Velvet have some lovely ones more stylish than sporty.

I wash my trainers in the machine. I have some Camper ones I got in a sale which are brilliant and I notice Uniqglo have some knitted white ones for about £15.

Callistemon21 Sun 06-Mar-22 15:59:51

Thank goodness they are in fashion.
Having had to wear laceups since I was a child because of 'difficult feet' (well, I didn't for years) it's a relief to know I don't look like a dork now.

Josieann Sun 06-Mar-22 15:55:00

Yes, soft leather is perfect.
I don't consider them expensive because they are very versatile. They can be worn with jeans, shorts or dresses.

No. And to be fair ecco last for ever

And they are leather not canvas
