Thinning hair

I use BoostnBlend shake on powder. It doesn't tackle the cause of thinning hair but it's really, really good at covering it up an looking natural.
I've had fine, thin and sparse hair all my life but definitely worsening with age, and this has Really helped my self esteem.

I was getting the hair loss from in my mid 40's, but tried shampoo first & soldiered on- wish i had gone to Dr's sooner.(now in late 50's been on thyroid pills about 3- 4 years.) Get a thyroid test first to rule it out.I had no idea i had an underactive thyroid, and did not know that hair loss (& the tiredness, lethergy etc) were symptoms of that. I thought it was all perhaps peri - menopausal.

Plantur39 does not work, in my opinion, but there's a new product- (waitrose have it special £6 this wk & conditioner ,
Pantene Revitalise Hair Bio- I've not tried it before as its new, but worth a go.(tesco only have shampoo £6 but no conditioner) I've got thinning hair due to an under active thyroid- so don't just assume its just because you're older, ask your G.P for a thyroid test first, unfortunately mines still not righted itself as due to other medication I'm on i can only have lowest thyroxine dose.So I'm going to ask for referral to trychologist also.(is that spelled right?)

I tried a solution that contained rosemary oil, peppermint and another ingredient: thyme perhaps. But it was messy to use. I’m still using Regaine but it isn’t helping much. I do think I would have been in a worse position if I hadn’t used it over the years, though. I did read that the solution I used was as good as Regaine, though.

Try using a Biotin supplement...

If these shampoos worked why aren’t high profile women like Elaine Page and Gloria Hunniford using them.
Both these women had beautiful thick hair. Look at them now.

I'm just on the second day of treatment in which the main ingredient is rosemary. I've been very ill in the last year and my hair suffered a lot- it clogged up my carpet cleaner! It is growing, but it's like candyfloss without a lot of products to boost thickness.

I heard a doctor on morning TV speaking about male baldness and he said of course it's equally distressing for women. He spoke about diet and right at the end said and who knows there might be something in rosemary. So I've bought it and if I notice a big improvement I'll post again.

Plantur 39 is touted as a solution to thinning hair. No idea if it works.
I have noticed that my white hair, as it replaces my normal colour, is far finer, babyish in fact which is annoying as my mother’s went more wiry so looked thicker.
