Concealer for the eye region

Thank you all for your very helpful suggestions, which I will try. I do use Touche Eclat already, but it is so difficult to find the right shade - and expensive, too! Thank you for all your kind messages.

Best ever eye concealer I used (I don't bother any more since retiring except on special occasions!) was Maybelline Eraser eye concealer. Sponge applicator, and it didn't sink into the creases. They do many more shades now than they used to and I'm sure you will find one to suit.

Another LFF fan.
Not a vast range but they are very helpful with advice and no problem returning a product should it not suit you.
Worth giving it a go IMO.

I have very dark rings under my eyes and I use LFF concealer and the appropriate LFF brush. It works well for me.

Have a look at the website which has useful tutorials too and the focus is on mature women and their makeup and skincare.

Dermacol is an excellent cream concealer used by those who have ie; very noticeable facial birthmarks and make-up artists. Some pharmacies sell it but it can also be bought in Amazon. There are many different shades on the chart for you to chose from dahlia. Good luck.

Look Fabulous Forever has products for older skin. The owner has problem skin that she conceals beautifully with her own products.

I use Clarins Instant Concealer which is excellent. However the trick is the application. I follow James & Robert Welsh on FB. Their skin care videos are very good. Although aimed at the younger generation the principals of skin care & makeup apply to all. Incidentally Primark do a pretty decent stick concealer.

I’m not much of an expert on makeup but wonder if using a primer first would help to stop the concealer settling in the wrinkles? Good luck with your search for an answer, Dahlia.

I forgot to say that Touché Eclat relies upon light reflective particles, that’s why the under eye area will appear paler. It’s not a ‘traditional’ concealer, and could be an expensive mistake.

I think that Touché Eclat will make the area even paler.
You might need a creamy concealer in a slightly darker tone than you would usually use.
The ones with a wand or a little sponge on the end tend to be thicker in texture than ones with a brush. The thicker the texture, the more it will settle in creases and show them up, so go for a lighter (runnier) texture.
And avoid powder under the eye too for that reason.
That’s what I’d do anyway!

I have vitiligo on my face, it's now creeping all around my jaw line and top of forehead downwards,it really gets me down,I use factor 50 and it still comes out,I have tried alsorts from stage makeup to self tanning lotions,however I haven't tried Esl so I'll give it a try thanks.

Touche Eclat by YSL is the absolute best

I have Nars concealer and really like it. I comes in a range of colours so you can find one to match your skin. It provides coverage without being to thick or cakey.
