Shoes ever again?

I could never wear anything so high as the Aquazzura shoes - oh my! Beautiful but never for me. The highest I was ever comfortable with is about 3", and a bit sturdier heel. I've twisted my ankle on a stiletto, and there's nothing more un-ladylike than a splat on the dancefloor!

I don't have occasion for heels anymore, hopefully things will get a bit more social, but my heel height will stay reasonable. I love the comfort of wedges for summertime.

I wore heels every single day to work
When I retired five years ago, I did wear them on occasion, without any issues. However, since lockdown, I have mostly run around in bare feet, slippers or plimsolls
We went out for a meal a couple of weeks ago and due to the auspicious occasion, decided to wear just a three inch high heel. I could not walk in them !
My daughter is getting married in a few weeks and my dress REALLY needs a heel, so I am 'practising' every night upstairs
The heels don't look so good with pj's and a blue fleecy dressing gown ?

My knees are in terrible shape and I no longer wear heels, but I own 70 pairs of ballet flats, other flats, loafers, espadrilles, boots, clogs, etc. in every possible colour! Really too much, I know, but I do wear them all and I have always had a weakness for shoes and hats. My DH rolls his eyes so much I often have to retreive them from under the chesterfield!

Beautiful MS but too high for me. I suspect five whereas three is my max. Furthermore I have sufficient pairs to see me out so happily I'm not remotely interested but the look was enjoyable. Thank you.

MerylStreep Beautiful. I notice that they have one pair left of my size - a diddy size 2! Alas though, I won't splurge. The balls of my feet will murder me.

I seem to spend my life in bare feet or flipflops, and sometimes crocs for gardening. I've tried wearing closed shoes but my feet seem to hate them and want fresh air!

I used to be Imelda Marcos but no longer. Skechers and Pavers for me and flat furry boots in the winter. I do wear sandals in the summer as I find trainers make my feet hot but they have to be the sort with thick soles or my feet hurt. I can't wear ballet flats as I find them weird to walk in - like a penguin.

Sorry, I’m not judging anybody else but I just can’t do it, my mission is to find comfortable but still stylish shoes. I’ve got a bunion too, on one foot only, so it’s a challenge. I’ve found that VanDal shoes work for me, they are leather inside so they stretch to fit, and they do different widths. I do wear trainers when I’m at home, but the thought of Hotter, Crocs or Pavers to go anywhere in is many steps too far. I’m a voice in the wilderness I know, but I’ve always been a shoe girl, and I’m not giving it up. Surely I can’t be the only one?

When I worked in an office I used to adore my shoes. The higher the heel and the brighter the colour the better with pointed toes, little trims, straps galore. I even had some with clear perspex heels for nights out. My friends called them my 'stripper shoes'.

Bunion surgery and some time later.....Sketchers boots and trainers, Josef Seibel sandals and wellies suit all eventualities. Shoes? Never again.

Hetty58 I wear Merrell hydro sandals with summer dresses. They really are the best thing to walk safely in for me. They’ve been worn to weddings, christenings, a formal dinner in a posh hotel and garden parties. A teenage girl asked me the brand and the shop I got them from, so they can’t look too frumpy ?

I am slowly loosing my heels to charity bags but cannot bear to get rid of them all at once.
At 5ft 2" I really miss my heels but a bunion has put paid to them forever. I feel so frumpy without them but must get used to it. I don't mind day to day but all my going out dresses look so strange in flats and my maxi dresses which I am fond of all need taking up . Sewing is not my forte so will have to pay to have them done.

Blossoming, last year I sent most sleeveless things to the charity shop - due to wrinkly upper arms.

This summer, I'm upset to find the thinning, crepey skin has begun to show below the elbows - just a little.

I suppose it'll be goodbye to short sleeves next!

Crocs around the house (older ones in the garden) and trainers for going out, almost always.

My newest trainers are for 'best' and I tend to buy Merrell ones these days as they always seem comfortable.

I actually wore a dress last week (very unusual) and went for boots with it (not wishing to show my poor old feet).

Oh, I do love a dressy and coordinated shoe. Unfortunately haven't had much opportunity to wear them recently but that's returning with my lunch groups slowly reforming. Tried a pair of trainers once but couldn't cope. Comfortable, yes, but so are all my shoes and I always felt scruffy on the few occasions I tried to wear them. They certainly are the in thing though. Just not for me.

I had a big clear out of designer heels 6 months after the brain injury that robbed me of the ability to walk. I sobbed when I was doing it, but it was obvious by then that I’d never wear them again. It was cathartic, I felt much lighter afterwards. I focused on learning to walk again instead of fretting about things I could no longer do. I have enough shoes to last my lifetime now ?

I have a few pairs of Sketchers and lovely flat Hotter ankle strap sandals.

Dragonfly, I too love the fashion for smart white trainers with pretty summer dresses, I wore that look to a family BBQ yesterday, so much more comfortable than heels.

However, I still find it difficult to put pairs of heels and court shoes in the charity bag...

I used to love wearing heels when I was younger but not for a good few years now. Scholl toe post sandals in different colours and styles for as long as I can then boots for the rest of the time.

I used to be vain about my pretty feet. No more now that I have permanent oedema! I like large wide trainers, and Hotter lace-up sandals, and Hotter lace-up shoes; all with the laces tied very loosely.

When I retired it took me 2 years before I could bring myself to off load my smart workwear and heels. Now I wonder just how I ever wore high heels? I wore a pair of sandals with a low heel for an hour last week and my back was agony!
Definitely comfort above everything now, Hotters and Ecco are my friends ?
