I’m fancying a pair of biker boots. I’m 65 and maybe too old to rock this style! What do you think? The pair I fancy are Gabor ones!

I’m 64 and I wear biker boots they go lovely with lots of things, go for it, since turning 60 within reason if I like something and it doesn’t make me look like mutton dressed as lamb I wear it.

I have had a pair of biker boots for a long time I wear them with skinny jeans or jeggings,my DD even wears hers with long summer dresses which seems to be very trendy with the younger ones.

Just go for it!
I bet as well as warm, they will be comfy.
Gone are the days when you are expected to wear the flat ones with fur round the top if you are over about 50 !

leeds22 Mon 02-Nov-20 10:49:00

Go for it!. I've had some grey ones for years, although I did remove some of the chains as they rattled when I walk.

Parsley3 Mon 02-Nov-20 10:46:44

Definitely Chelsea boots. I have a pair. Am going to look at biker boots now though.

Delila Mon 02-Nov-20 10:44:28

Spangler, those look like Chelsea boots.

Yellowmellow Mon 02-Nov-20 10:40:21

I'd say go for It, but make sure you're outfit matches

Lollipop1 Mon 02-Nov-20 10:35:52

Okay, stop worrying. I'm 73 and I will never conform to the stereotypical granny. Get your biker boots. If you're worried about how to style them check out instagram posts.

oh dear - poor old me - i dont know what biker boots are !

dragonfly46 Mon 02-Nov-20 10:34:36

I have got Biker boots and a leather jacket to go with them - no motorbike though sadly!

4allweknow Mon 02-Nov-20 10:30:33

Just checked a few "biker boots" sites as I was mystified about how what I consider biker boots would be worn. Nothing like what I consider a biker boot. Trousers or any leg covering was always inside the boot for safety (no flapping material to catch on anything) and warmth. Thick sole and secure fastenings. Realised I have been wearing the modern fashion of biker boot for a few years now. Go for a pair if you fancy them.

FannyCornforth Mon 02-Nov-20 10:21:52

No! That link doesn't show 'biker boots'.
It's loads of different types of women's boots.

4allweknow Mon 02-Nov-20 10:17:50

Spangler I have always thought biker boots to be thick soled, laced or buckled up the sides and worn on the outside of trousers. Sure these are biker boots in the picture? I will need to check biker magazines for what is the norm.

Sunlover Mon 02-Nov-20 07:03:17

Bought some last week. I’m 67 and my daughters were asking where I got them as they thought they looked good. ???

Shirleyw Mon 02-Nov-20 05:57:08

Love biker boots, I have a pair and I'm 61.

Nanna58 Sun 01-Nov-20 23:31:31

Oh Hetty58 now you’ve got me worried_ I’ve just bought some navy suede over the knee boots _ not quite thigh high.....?

baubles Sun 01-Nov-20 22:28:52

I’m older than you OP, wear whatever you want. These are super comfortable but I do hanker after a pair of Docs.

Iam64 Sun 01-Nov-20 21:03:44

those Gabor ones are good aren't they.
There are so many excellent boots around. I found myself wondering how many ankle, half calf length boots could possibly be too many

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Nov-20 21:02:20

I have biker boots and Doc Martins, once they are bedded in you will not regret your purchase.

Spangler Sun 01-Nov-20 21:00:46

Have you heard of Jones the Bootmaker? www.jonesbootmaker.com/collections/ladies-biker-boots?

GagaJo Sun 01-Nov-20 20:38:07

I love biker boots. My last ones were actually Clarks, not that you'd have known if, they were so 'lived in' and grungy looking. Very realistic.

I've not been able to find another pair I like so am without at the moment. I like Fly but they're a bit narrow for me.

rafichagran Sun 01-Nov-20 20:37:31

Fly boots are also good.

FannyCornforth Sun 01-Nov-20 20:27:01

Oh please don't buy Doc Martens before trying them on!
They are notoriously unbearably painful until you have worn them in, which may not ever happen!
Please read up on them. I wouldn't touch them with the proverbial.

Glow Sun 01-Nov-20 19:56:43

Marydoll
Hope your RA in undercontrol and not giving you to much pain

Marydoll Sun 01-Nov-20 19:50:07

I wish I looked like that!?
