How many beige clothes do you have?

Goodness - I remember having a ‘colour me beautiful’ session too. I was declared a ‘winter’ and still have my colour swatches - still go by it, if unintentionally! Beige was never in it, nor orange or yellow, but purple, pinks and cobalt blue - my favourites, even if I just add a pop of those colors to a plain black, grey or navy outfit.

Had a friend years ago who went out and bought a brand new car - beige!!!! Think I was driving something red and Italian at the time.

Lucca The first secondary school I went to wore navy with a blue square-necked blouse. I liked that much better! The third had no uniform at all, which was liberating.

My first secondary school ....grey and maroon. We wore “divided skirts” with aertex blouses in the weekday and hideous “costumes” for church on Sunday with lisle stockings....imagine

No beige for me - I like blues, pinks, plummy colours and purples near my face - definitely not turquoise, yellows or oranges for tops because they make my teeth look yellow I usually wear black or indigo jeans.

I wear all colours. And I love patterns. Especially stripes and florals.
But black seems too harsh for me now. But I’m sure I’ve got something In beige. I like to think I keep up with fashion, without looking ridiculous.

Just one pair of beige/stone coloured trousers, that's all. I like colour!
I have 2 red jackets, 1 pair red trousers, a red fleece and three red tops.
My mother wore a LOT of beige, she liked to be inconspicuous and blend into the background. I always swore I would never be the same. I do like neutral tones, they can look very elegant, but I'm always reminded of my mum's boring style.

I go for denim, navy and baby blue, teal, almost all shades of pink (my favourite being dusky pink), purple and lilac, gold, burgundy and white. I don't go for black much, apart from handbags and boots (and one faux fur jacket that I wear very occasionally). I have a pair of grey jeans, some grey nightdresses and a grey handbag. Oh, and a top with grey stripes. I only have a red top and a red bag just in case I need them otherwise I wouldn't. I really dislike beige. X

The school I taught in used to have beige and brown uniforms apparently but then changed to black grey and red, much more wearable !

Agreed Illlte. Black has always drained me, so I wear black trousers, but never near my face. Likewise beige. They do nothing for me.

I have had (rare) compliments when I wear a bright jewel colour, or shades of gold/mustard and soft or bright greens or turquoise. I don't really go for bright red or maroon. I wear white tops in summer, but not beige. My hair is still dyed mid brown with gold glints.

Sea cliff I’m so glad you never wear your trousers near your face.......people might just think you’d lost the plot !!

My senior school uniform was green and white Elegran and it looked okay at the beginning of the school day but by the end ....... I was always looking tussled and untucked.

I have none because my skin is olive and it would look dreadful. Quite agree about black, it is very ageing. I think it depends on your skin tone/hair colour etc, but beige rarely good on white skin I think, can look really elegant on black though. x

Nothing beige or red in my wardrobe. My favorite colour is green so i do seem to have a lot of different shades of green. Blues but not navy and pale grey suit me. My natural light red hair has gone blonde recently so beige is a no no!

I've got some beige bras and knickers because they don't show through light/white clothes. Plus one pair of stone chinos, the rest are pink, yellow and various shades of blue. Nearly all my tops are Breton type stripes.

Well I have just bought a beige colour jumper from Seasalt (pottery studio jumper if anyone wants to look at the website) and I think it’s lovely. Its made from a very soft cotton. I think the fabric that a garment is made from and the cut too is as important as the colour

I'm always drawn to sea colours so the majority of my wardrobe is blue, green, grey and white. My clothes are in various tones of those colours. No beige.

No beige. I like blues and turquoise shades.

Like Illte I had a colour me beautiful session and have had a lovely colour wardrobe for the last 30 years I am cool summer but it has another name now and I love all my colours. No beige for me. I think my neutral is stone. I have a summer coat in that as well as one or two coloured ones.

Don't go beige. My mum carried on wearing bright orange and vivid greens until she died aged 95. Always looked glamorous in bright colours.

No beige in my wardrobe as I've never been attracted to anything beige in the shops. Up until yesterday, I had nothing red in my wardrobe but I saw a red sundress for a tenner in Sainsbury's sale - it's got elephants on & just appealed to me. It's not really my colour but will be ok in the garden if we ever get some sun back. I look better in pink, which I never liked on me 'til I went grey, and other lighter colours like hyacinth blue, turquoise & khaki green. My DM who died a year ago was never one to dish out compliments but if I happened to be wearing a particular khaki dress, she always told me she liked me in it. I was wearing it the day before she died...

Absolutely no beige. I can’t wear black as I resemble a corpse if I do So I have a lot of basics in navy and dark/ silver grey. I also like deep purple, chartreuse and dusky pink. No red , orange or yellow.

Beige is for old biddies.

I love that poem Quizzer but don't think the line 'And make up for the sobriety of my youth' applies to us children of the fifties and sixties. What sobriety?
No, just checked my wardrobe, no beige at all. Two pairs of stone linen trousers, lots of black and denim trousers and one black dress, everything else is a variety of colour.
Since cropping my hair in March and letting the grey take over I look best in purples, deep pinks and blues, not so good in the yellows and greens any more.
