I see that the one I ordered in ochre has an alternative colourway in navy with an ochre pattern which you can get 20% off with a Sparks card plus an extra 10% off if you order from M&S through the Topcashback website or app. That brings the cost down frim £49.50 to £34.65.
Every little helps.
I did look at the one you ordered gillybob but although it's pretty, flowery patterns don't suit me, nor would the colour.
I would be interested to see a real photo of it and read what you think of your recent purchases...colour, fit etc...when you have time.

Hush and Seasalt do some great clothes, esp with tummy forgiving designs. Not cheap though. M&S used to be my go to. Now not so much.

I’m 5ft 6 so hoping it’s not too long on me River.

I’ve never really been a huge clothes shopper and could do with a few bits for autumn.

I am trying to stop buying clothes. I really do have enough for my informal retired lifestyle.

Before we put the clothing industry out of business and cause mass unemployment in developing countries, I think we need to acknowledge there must be some imprecision and guesswork regarding carbon footprints.

I’ve just ordered this dress . It will either look nice and relaxed or like a sack of spuds . I’m going with the spuds but will see.

M&S can be expensive on a pension; the only items I’ve bought from there recently are a feather and down gilet (worth every penny) and some basic elasticated waist trousers (great for caring for grandchildren). As I don’t work any more, I don’t need smart clothes except for cruises and the occasional family wedding.

I was in M and S the other day. One of their new line in dresses was a long-line skinny rib jumper which was ankle length. Fine if you are six feet tall and size 8. For everyone else?....?

? annepl. The clothing industry has a bigger carbon footprint than the airline and shipping industry combined. It's no good either to restrict plastic bag use if we freely buy polyester (non recycled) clothing which is made out of plastic.

I'm going to buy less this year and wear them more often. We are all buying too much.

I could do with a bit of enhancing, but hey it's best to love what you've got - you don't know how long you've got it for......

What does it matter what size your boobs are and why on earth would anyone want to enhance them and where is the cut off point at whichyou stop enhancing?

I have been quite content to be 32B formost of my life without any need of enhancement. I look perfectly normal, can wear normal clothe and it has not inhibited my life in any way. My boobs are just there and I rarely give them a thought, except the occasional examitation for health reasons.

Now were we to discuss narrow sloping shoulders then I could wax eloquent or the problems of not having a waist....

I think dresses are back in fashion again, lots of young ones wearing them with trainers. I think M&S have a good range. I bought a summer long one which was so cool during the hot spell. I mostly buy their jeans which wear well, and knickers, which I wear for years until they fall apart! I love the tencel fabric and like some of the shirts. Bras I get from Berlei, not keen on M&S ones. I also like Hobbs and Seasalt, but they are more expensive than Marks. I am trying not to buy as much "stuff" but choose things that will last for ever, don't care about fashion and don't think I'm frumpy.

I used to buy my bras from BHS. Simple plain white cotton ones, no padding or lacy bits. The ones I now get from M & S are ok, but preferred the others. The assistant at Marks said nothing really fitted me properly, which was disconcerting, but have to make the best of it. I’m a 34a. The BHS ones were a lot cheaper too.

This is the pink tencel version of gillybob 's denim shirt. Same range and price £29.50.
They do a baby blue one too which is not advertised online for some reason. Quite baggy and a good weight.

Like many of us l like a particular style of bra and go for it each time but the M and S lingerie department is so enormous and has such a bewildering array of styles and the one l want always seems to be in the furthest flung corner of the department. I tend to go to Marks for underwear and basics, including their £17.50 cardigans in different colours. Our ladies' changing rooms are in the lingerie department and there are always hapless 50+ men sitting on the chairs outside waiting for their wives and trying to avoid eye-contact with the items on sale!

I only buy jeans, chinos, t-shirts, vest tops, underwear, etc from M&S - can't be doing with frills, bows and embellishments.

However, my best buy from them this summer was a moss green corduroy jacket - it's so versatile and have worn it with jeans & dresses and it looks great.

I was intending to buy a denim jacket but decided the green cord would be more useful - wish I'd bought a black one as well. Of course they're no longer available!
