The sun is out and I look 'orrible.

I’ve taken to wearing Bermuda shorts in summer.....and for special days I wear mid calf length full skirt dresses. However, I do find the waist often creeps up to my bust!
I don’t wear t shirts as they hug too close.....loose fitting cotton tops do the trick.
I’m also not averse to a find in a charity shop.....I love, lov, love a budget find.

Try charity shops, I have quite a good budget for shopping but I use charity shops a great deal. If you have a sewing machine and are any good at sewing why not try upcycling (thinks thats what it called) some of the clothes. Also just get out into the fresh air and get that summer glow from the wind and and sun that will help no end.

M and S long teeshirts skim the body, if you buy the correct size. £15 each. Black or khaki last time I looked. They may be sold out by now, she writes complacently, having bought two.

PS I mean teeshirt dresses, they are long.

Lot's of good suggestions but this thread has upset me. Great linen dress from M&S, has short sleeves- shift like and comes in a longer length. But all the larger sizes are sold out! So come on GNers who's bought the darn thing before I got here???

I know the feeling {grin}. I'm the same....but there of lots of other women (and men), who are all like us, and so what? There are all shapes and sizes out and about. I like to float about in maxi dresses, and I wear a shrug and sandals, to feel comfortable.

I walked down our local promenade on Saturday. It was very busy with all shapes and sizes and a a complete range of clothing from dressy to ridiculous. But some of the skinny folk looked hideous ,and the bigger people looked good.
Just wear what your comfortable in. So many of us share your angst but no one else really cares. Get a good haircut, a smile on your face and a nice necklace. No one will look any lower!

I too am on a tight budget and can never find anything in Primark. My go to shops are Matalan and Roman Originals both go up to a size 22. I’m only a size 12/14 but have a tummy to hide. Try separates that you can mix and match. Enjoy the sunshine ?

Loose, flowing garments seem to make me look like a weeble!

There are a few good independent stores around, which offer lots of different brands, but obviously a limited range of each, in limited sizes, always worth a browse though

My daughter tells me I have to be happy to be a "pretty (?!) little weeble". It's hard. Especially as I don't have a clue what a weeble is.

I bought these two skirts from M and S yesterday. (up a waist size )

Sea salt has nice stuff. I didn't realise how bad I look until my son posted our Easter photos. I am twice the size of other gran!Will make an effort now the weather is better, try to go for a walk and eat less ?
