Spring dresses -any recommendations?

Used to love M&S but I have NO idea what went wrong!! Hardly ever find anything I want these days. Debenhams is good (covers lots of different labels). Buy from Monsoon, Hobbs etc only during sales. used to love East but they're gone now (sadly). Sea Salt (but mainly for blouses). Last dress I bought was from Monsoon - lovely quality.

I bought the orange dress from our local department store, Rutherfords of Morpeth. It's by Sandwich.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit pricey at £95 but it looks really good over black leggings. You can push the sleeves up or wear them down. I really like a dress or top with a collar.

M&S had some really pretty dresses when I last went in. Not dowdy at all

Just looked at the dresses on the linked page and thought ‘yuck’. They all look so boring and mumsy.
The only one I liked was being worn by the model at the top of the page but no details for that one.
Good job I make my own, I guess.
I’m short and not skinny but I wouldn’t be seen dead in 50 shades of beige linen.

Loving GrammaH's Pretty Kitty recommendation. Some of the dresses are a bit "out there" for me, but I've ordered the Wine Red Floral V Neck Crossover Top Empire Waist Swing Dress which is very pretty!

Love OSKA too but expensive. Haven't looked at M&S clothes for quite a while but did see a recent advert for their linen outfits that looked rather nice, will have to investigate.

It's been ages since I have bought a dress as I am a cold mortal and have to layer up in tights, jeans, socks, vests, gilets and coats to be even tolerably warm. I also do not go out much these days so don't need new clothes.

However, I have bought a stonkingly lovely and expensive dress for my DD's wedding in June from Phase Eight.

M and S WAKE UP!

OSKA. Quite expensive but beautifully cut and made. I buy a couple of items each season and they all seem to work together and last forever too.

Well nothing by M&S, that's for sure.

I was in there yesterday - Ladies togs are still in the doldrums in terms of both style and quality.

Let's go back to the days when we could all dress up as Dame Hilda & Doctor Evadne and have done with it!

Marydoll I bought a couple of really cheap, lined linen dresses from Peacocks last year, I think they were £20 each & both get admired! No doubt they will be doing similar this year. The Dolly & Dotty and Pretty Kitty are mostly under £40 full price and I got 3 D&D for £50 in total in their sale. The quality is great & the ones I had are all lined!

I like the usual suspects such as Sea salt and White Stuff for every day, with Bombshell for special occasions. I also love the old fashioned cotton frocks at great prices from Dolly & Dotty and Pretty Kitty - both have some gorgeous florals for the summer.

I frequent most of the sites mentioned, but never pay the full price.
It got me thinking, not everyone can afford to buy from these sites, would it be worth including some lower priced items? After all, GN should be inclusive.
You can often find hidden gems in sites like Sainsbury's TU.

Hobbs usually have a style called Twitchill in different patterns or plain every year. Also Jigsaw. Neither are cheap but lovely fabrics and last years.

Kaleidoscope (on line ) are good and they often have sales. I also like Monsoon , White stuff, Mint Velvet (in the sales) and PhaseEight, when I can get 20% off.

For everyday summer wear Next linen dresses loads of different prints and a comfortable fit for warm weather , even more budget friendly Asda George linen dresses, though they sell out fast .

Any dress I buy has to cover my 'bingo wings'. Wish I still had the energy and the skill to make my own.

Wrap, floaty/lightweight midi length with stripes or small flowers.
Zara and New Look have some rather nice ones.

I got a delightful dress made by "Hot Squash" for my son's wedding. I got it from Debenhams but it is also available from Next.

Sea salt and Monsoon for me

I like Roman (or Roman Originals). I got a lovely dress for a wedding from there last summer. I also like Lindy Bop, who are online. The specialise in 40s/50s style dresses.
