I was really troubled by excess "wind" last year, uncomfortable and potentially embarrassing! At last I went to the GP, who actually recommended probiotics. I now take a supplement (from Holland and Barrett and not expensive), have a probiotic yoghurt every day and a cup of peppermint and liquorice tea each morning (lovely!). It may all be in the mind, but as a result of this I feel so much better and my symptoms have disappeared - unless, of course, I leave it too long between meals.
