A bit early maybe, but have been thinking about some new boots for Winter, no, or low heeled, comfy, slouchy, and either knee high or 3/4 in black or plum leather ( not suede) think that I won't be lucky though, I usually find boots by complete surprise, in shops I didn't even know were there( like the shoe/boot shop in Burford.)

Maybe I should ask him to hide them? grin

rosesarered Mon 12-Oct-15 23:16:38

Only if you WEAR them!grin

Nooooo! No snow!

I lost my padded (purple!) wellies for two years, and DBH found them in the garage last week, I am now convinced that it is fate and it will snow!

rosesarered Mon 12-Oct-15 21:09:16

And my bargain pink wellies ( with roses on them!) when will it snow?grin

Ana Mon 12-Oct-15 21:06:55

Yes, like my bargain snow shovels from Home Bargains - still unused three years later! grin

Bought some really substantial snow boots a couple of winters ago - they haven't come out of their box yet! Which I suppose is a good thing.

That's good to know Jane ( remember we had a crumbling sole thread about Hotter?)My shoes/ boots are all on shelves too, so should be fine.

janerowena Mon 12-Oct-15 20:31:42

I have a black pair, they are so comfortable. I have the shorter ones in plum and brown, and they are like comfy slippers to wear. Someone said you can't shut them away, the soles have to breathe. Mine are kept on shelves and after about five years of buying them, they all seem well and healthy!

Mystery boots,Hotter!

rosesarered Mon 12-Oct-15 20:09:14

Janerowena, just seen those Mystery Boots at our local garden centre this afternoon, they are lovely, both the plum and the teal ( want both really.)

I have a different problem.... At the calf I can put both hands right down into most boots. That's ok when wearing with tighter jeans but looks horrible on the leg with a skirt, even with thick tights.
Wish I had fat calfs/calves and a bit less on the stomach/waist.

I love Fitflop sandals, have only 2 pair because they are pretty expensive, didn't know they did shoes and boots.

rosequartz Mon 12-Oct-15 17:28:34

Well fancy that, has anyone else got an advert at the top of the GN page for Fitflop boots?

What have you started jings !

rosequartz Mon 12-Oct-15 17:20:04

I do have a pair of Fitflop winter shoes that are very comfortable and a pair of Ff sandals that are a bit too big (they didn't do half sizes). However, the boots look a bit flat, I don't like too much of a heel but can't wear completely flat shoes or boots.

loopylou Mon 12-Oct-15 17:16:44

I love those boots! What's the Fitflop microwobbleboard In those boots jingl? Knowing my exceedingly crappy ankle and nonexistent sense of balance it sounds like something yours truly should avoid sadly.

I have fat calfs/calves (which is it?) I have a lovely pair of Duo boots I bought about 3 years ago when DH had a tax rebate (£250) but they have been rebranded and their boots are now £350 so we wont go there! I have bought some lovely black low heeled ones from Marisota at £65 - they have many many styles in many many widths.

Janerowena-thanks for the Hotter tip. I've looked up Moshulu and seen a nice plum pair too!

janerowena Mon 12-Oct-15 12:17:09

Hotter boots are automatically wider at the calf, so it's well worth a look if you have a shop nearby. I was able to get into a knee length pair with no problems, but do love my 3/4 plum pair.

Yes, my other secret vice is Moshulu.

rosesarered Mon 12-Oct-15 10:01:36

Yes, thanks everyone for suggestions, will look at them all ( seems like a few of us will be trogging around in 3/4 slouchy plum boots this Winter.)

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Oct-15 09:51:20

I am going to get some of these

I am a big fan of Fitflop shoes and boots.

gettingonabit Mon 12-Oct-15 08:16:53

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm really struggling this year as most boots I've seen are either ankle or knee length. I have very small feet and wide calves. Even if I can get a pair to close over my legs, they squidge my fat knees. Not a good look.

Off to google three-quarter length now, in plum patent!

Celtic and Co do some styles in 'plum' and 'aubergine'. I bought some a couple of years ago and they are still going strong and looking good.

They are in sheepskin rather than leather, flat and very comfy, and look good with skinny jeans tucked into them. Good non- slip soles and quite snug. I'm a 5.5 but find I need a 6 in these.

kittylester Mon 12-Oct-15 07:02:40

Moshulu have quite a few plum boots. They have a few shops but their returns policy is good! (I don't have shares in Moshulu but I should have.)

janerowena Sun 11-Oct-15 21:19:01

I bought some plum coloured Hotter boots last year. They don't have as many styles in plum this year - but these caught my eye, they come in 5 colours.

Deedaa Sun 11-Oct-15 21:04:32

Is there a more ageing word than "sensible"? grin

rosesarered Sun 11-Oct-15 20:44:56

Deedaa, I had a similar pair at around the same time, but in a pale caramel, and I teetered around on them happily. Now I wear low heeled or flatties, however a low heel is supposed to be better for you to wear than completely flat.I have some sensible boots and some not entirely sensible( though I see that day coming...)
