When my older daughter got married she booked sole use of a very lovely hotel for the weekend and invited close family to stay after the wedding. The products in the bathroom were all Molton Brown, which I'd never even heard of previously. I noticed straight away that the hair shampoo thickened my hair and obviously mentioned it - quite a lot it seems - because my daughter then bought me both the shampoo and conditioner as a mother's day gift. I use the conditioner very sparingly and only once a fortnight, but the shampoo I use every time I wash my hair. It is obscenely expensive (£18) so my family all take turns to buy it for me and I make it last as long as I can. www.moltonbrown.co.uk/store/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=609&lightbox=true There are other shampoos by Molton Browm, but this one gives me the best results.
I have skin and eye allergies so avoid any hair or bath products containing parabens or sodium lauryl sulphate. I use DGJ (Daniel Galvin Junior) Organics, which does not contain these chemicals. I buy these in Waitrose for about £5.00 a bottle
I use Aveda,Rosemary flavour/smell.Its excellent gives your hair a healthy shine and you only need a very small amount to lather.lasts ages. Tempted to try Liz Earle new shampoo, I use her facial products.
I have used MB products, but never the shampoo. For several years now I have used Ojon shampoo, conditioner and masque - I can't remember which of the big shops sell the stuff, but QVC sell it - just love it. I also have used Aveda and used to love that. I do find, though, that I have to change every so often so that my hair doesn't get used to the current favourite.
Aveda Blue Malva shampoo and conditioner to keep silver hair silver. They're expensive but you can get big quantities on mail order and that makes it a bit cheaper over all. It's supposedly cruelty free but belongs to the same 'stable' as Clinique and Estée Lauder.
Having read this post, I bought some Molton Brown shampoo and conditioner. I found them OK but much more expensive and not as good as my normal shampo and conditioner - Aussie for Coloured Hair.
The "not tested on animalsl", though, is a definite plus.
I haven't tried Philip Kingsley hair products yet,but have heard about it,as its shampoo and conditioners are really good. Hair Accessories Distributor
Has anyone tried Philip Kingsley hair products? Saw them on QVC and was tempted but its a lot to shell out and then find you don't like it. Does nobody do free samples any more? I have very thick naturally curly hair so my shampoo needs to be a good moisturising one.
JJ heavenly gingerlily bath stuff is great ...but remember ...you put hardly any in the bath ...capful under the tap!! You'll be amazed how long it will last. Enjoy!
I settled for the one called purifying plum-kadu. The assistant said it was the most cleansing one, which ties in more with my new regime of washing hair only once a week. It's got a lovely perfume.
And I got a free little heavenly gingerlily bath and shower gel with it.
I went there already, jings. I don't think one should have to ask for a full list of ingredients. The information should be provided up front. Especially at that price.
Digressing from the shampoo for a moment, I was given some "Balance Me" hand cream as a gift. It is lovely, but when I looked online to buy some I was stunned by the price! My sister must think I am worth it!!
Molton Brown does it for me too - love it and have it lined up above the bath and in the showers; no problem for birthday and Christmas presents for me. I think we should all treat ourselves occasionally - and as I don't wear make up I use the money saved and spend it on MB * Baggy* you get 300mls
