I don't know why they call them burnout.

Mine is the same style as this one but more of a kingfisher blue and grey colour scheme. Wore it to DD's house yesterday (she gave it to me for X) so thought I had better wear it one more day before washing it.

It's nice. Am wearing M& S thermal vest with woollen jumper on top, but am now too warm.

leggings, nylon part lined PE teacher type trousers, cotton vest, long sleeved merino top, long sleeved fleece. And that was to go out for a jog. Indoors this afternoon will probably add a fleecy layer and maybe a small blanket while sitting with warm laptop on knees.
Does anyone else get really cold upper arms. I seem to lack thermostatic control there. I was thinking about the virtues of double thickness welsh shawls yesterday.
Yes there are still such things as electric blankets.My DH bought me a dual control one for xmas - maybe with a view to tempting me to join him beneath duvet. It is lovely to get into warmed bed. If cold i go and commune with it in the afternoon...
But if I am to get decent sleep in that bed the duvet has got to go, and be replaced by fleecy blankets. Am now addicted. (and he has got to stop those big muscly cycling legs from twitching!!!!)
In NZ every motel room has electric blankets. Their buildings are not warm or insulated.
When toughing out my freezing winter there i was so glad of having one as otherwise the mattress (on an uninsulated floor ) never warmed up.

Furry bootee slippers, thermal vest and leggings, ordinary synthetic trousers, cotton jumper and thermal socks.

I have put on my leggings and a long wooly jumper with a snood wrapped aroung my neck also have done the dreaded deed and put on a pair of uggs to keep the ankle's draft free,I feel cold to-day for some reason can't understand why as the apartment is nice and cosy,I have even put off washing my hair as I can't face the thought of drying it.

I think there is something about mid jan. touch of the hibernations about. the notion of sleeping in the afternoon has suddenly become more appealing...

JessM I only have to sit down this past week and my little eye's are closing and the zzzzs appear !!

I am now down to just vest and t-shirt, (dumped the pink thing), jeans (sans long-johns) and socks - warming up at last!

Bootee slippers, thick socks, warm trousers, long jumper-thing and thick cardigan. VERY cold today, here. The frost hasn't lifted at all.

We've just had a whopping gas bill for the central heating, so will be putting on the layers when I get home from work!!! I am always cold in the evenings, we live in a Victorian apartment so the rooms have stupidly high ceilings. So when I eventually sit down to watch TV I have a lovely soft warm blanket that I wrap myself in!! The funny things is when I get into bed I get very hot...not that sort of hot , so we sleep with the window open, even on very cold nights..not sure we will tonight though, it was -6 when I scraped the car this morning.

I am NEVER cold! I went for a walk today wearing jeans and long sleeved shirt, and was soon sweating. I had been unable to apply make-up prior to going out because my face was running with sweat as it does most mornings.
As mentioned in 'mattress topper' thread, I have been like this for at least 12 years, and even before that I was always a hot body. This weather suits me fine, and I have been more comfortable at night with only my starched cotton sheet for covering. I do put on the central heating low for a while morning and evening in this weather to avoid frozen pipes, but never in the bedroom.

someone was out in a hot air balloon here this afternoon! How cold must that have been. I understand as you go up in those things the temp. drops like a stone.

I did an evening trip in a balloon and we were told to wear something warm. It was a balmy evening in early autumn and I was quite warm enough in a lightweight anorak, lined with lightweight fleece. It really wasn't that cold.

Usual stuff - jeans, shirt, jumper but have put on indoor-Uggs as a concession to frosty conditions and am just about to light a fire, as it's very cold -2 all day. Brrrh

Not too cold here so only wearing t shirt, jogging bottoms and cardy. I do like my electric blanket at night, it's not been cold enough to leave on all night yet but lovely to get into a warm bed.

Magic knickers! Pulled right up to my bra. OK I know that some of you are lucky enough not to need them.
Thick woollen tights topped with a pair of thermal socks.
Vest (tucked down the tights),
Lycra leggings,
Long sleeved cotton T shirt,
Polo neck sweater,
Body warmer,
Neck cowl,
Fur lined boots,
Wooly scarf and that's just for indoors.

Winter draw(er)s on I see. I hope you are all wearing your semmets( em, bagitha, supernana, annobel et al will understand) into which you were sewn at the beginning of November?

I do think being tucked in is paramount - is it an age thing that I don't like feeling "untucked" round the middle?

Tucked in, waist and trousers into socks vital. Wearing much of all the above plus huddling under an electric plug in fleece blanket( bliss and cheap). Hate the cold and today heating has decided to pack up in half the house. Man might be able to look at it tomorrow or "sometime next week" . Not sure looking will warm the house or me up much

Thin T shirt and cotton trousers because the house is like a furnace, DH likes it warm.

A camisole, a thermal vest which is nice and long, a pair of jogging bottoms, tights, fleecy slippers and an aran cardigan. I wear more indoors than out as my husband doesn't like the heating on and is always warm.

Best ever, and even possible to keep looking vaguely glamorous - is the silk underwear from Patra - now on line www.patra.com. Wade thro' the dire fashion and find the slik leggings - a dream as they feel really light and cosy - any of the vests - camisoles - long or short sleeved - socks - and especially the liner gloves - to wear on their own or under gloves. Promise I'm not on commission - just changed my life!
