I am in Newcastle with my partner and he is participating in the Great North Run.
If any Grans are running or have relatives running good luck to everyone. I hope they enjoy it and get the time they want.

Good luck to your partner and all the other runners, especially if they’re running for a charity. The weather in North Lancashire is fine and mild but grey, probably the right sort of weather for a run.

One of my Great-Nephews is running this year. One of my step-grandsons ran it last year. A marathon is a wonderful achievement if you’re not a semi-professional runner but a “seasoned” amateur. DD has two under her belt and a long string of halves (which, I am told, become a walk in the park once you’ve run a marathon). SiL ran the Paris marathon but hasn’t felt the call to do another.
I wish everyone the very best of luck today.
