Commentator on the England/Iceland match

Love the jokes above ! No doubt they will still be saying one of the few phrases they manage to say ie "We got a result". I always thought that in every match of any sort there was always a result so I am never sure what on earth they are on about. I always think that footballers / managers etc must have a list of phrases to learn and it is a short list at that.

One I saw the other day was:

It's the first time England loses twice in a week to Iceland.

I know nothing about footy but DH (who does) says that we played badly, and I further think that Iceland, having a tiny population, did well to put out a football team at all.
Plus, we may all have a bit of Viking in our blood, so well done them.??

Have no sympathy for people who earn hundreds of thousands pounds per week and can't come up with the goods. Perhaps they should have visited the Somme memorial for inspiration.

Flora I think it was Bill Shankly that said football was more important than life I'd death. Unlike some (dont mean on here) I'll be cheering Wales on now.

Now just hoping when the disappointed fans return home they don't go throwing bricks through windows of Iceland or spraying graffiti on their windows

Perhaps we could ask to play the match a second time to see if we can get a better result next time????

Iceland did a sterling job- they were the superior team, that was obvious. Good luck to them- I do not know who they are up against next.
