I would love to go to Australia to visit my brother and his partner but the cost and then the length of time it would take to get there and the jet lag

New Zealand would be my first choice!

I would love to visit my son in America and do a rail journey from the East to West coast.
The things stopping me are - nervous of flying and losing confidence dealing with all the booking, checking in online etc.
Travel Insure - nervous nowadays that I will forget to declare a visit to docs for something minor and then invalidate it!

It is so long since I have had a holiday, even in the UK that to be honest anywhere would be lovely (nearly 20 years)!

Ideally though I would have loved to go to the Fjords and see the Northern Lights, my Grandmother went in the 1960's and I remember looking at her photos and it looked beautiful. As I am not a sun seeker it would be okay for me temperature wise depending on the time of year.

Finances are the main issue for me and I wouldn't want to go alone, although I do have a friend with similar issues who I could go with.

As regards Insurance, I am not sure if I would be even able to get any insurance as I have many ongoing medical issues and my mobility isn't great (but I could manage on a Cruise Liner!)

Australia,with my mum,to see a cousin I haven't seen for over 35years.
I would love to see the sights and animals too.
I don't know if we would be able to help in the fire areas.Cousin lives in New South Wales.

Dallas, Texas to see my half sister who I haven't seen since I was 7 years old (52 years ago). I would just love to knock on her door and surprise her.

My husband and I have travelled to quite a lot of places and have been avid fans of cruising. However, we have decided to not go abroad at all for a year and see what we can get up to to entertain ourselves within Great Britain. We have booked 4 trips to Wales (2 South, 1 Mid and 2 North) as well as a trip to Shropshire so far! The airport is a particularly awful experience as is the flight nowadays.

Responsibilities mainly stop us. Me and my husband love to travel, I think we were better parents to our children becuase we would take little trips here and there, very basic, but always fun!
Now I care for all four of my parents, (lol step-parents included!) its hard work, but I do not begrudge a moment, however even when my children say they will take over and do some of it, I find it hard to relinquish the care over to anyone else, because I worry that something will go wrong if I let og of the reins! One day though....

Stopping us, more than health, is wealth. At the moment, we struggle by on the disability benefit we get between us, especially as we're both fighting pip applications.

My fiancee has cancer, and Rhumatoid Arthritis. I have collapsing spine, and a long list of other stuff! Oh, do you count mental issues ?

Knowing we wouldn't travel without insurance, so that's another great expense for the both of us.

If I had a magic wand, I'd sort out health first, and if any juice left, then a little wealth... Not greedy, just enough to be able to holiday n pay the bills.

I personally haven't had a holiday since 1985. Oh I've been abroad, but it was work.... As a sound technician. I either didn't earn enough or never had anyone to go with (I spent almost all my adult life alone).

Since I've been with my fiancee, we've had nice days out, but not an actual holiday.

Mine would be somewhere exotic and magical like Bora Bora or Tahiti. I've been to some beautiful places in my life but this would be the icing on the cake!

It doesn’t matter where i would go because its always the same thing that stop me.
I am a widow so money is tight even though I work full time. I am a teacher so I only get school holidays off and breaks more expensive then.
I am needed for childcare in the school holidays.
If I travel alone I am charged a two persons fee and on the three occasions I did travel alone I was treated like a loner, sad person , weirdo, or as a threat by other women who assumed I was after their husbands LOL.

Vancouver Island. My cousin, who has been a big part of my life moved here 4 years ago and now has permanent residency. I'd love to go out to visit her. Seeing her amazing photos makes me yearn for a trip.

My dream for years has been to visit the Valley of the Kings with a Nile cruise. Would also love to see The Galapagos. BUT, age, being by myself and mobility problems mean these can never happen. Even letting my passport expire this year. Always fancied a lovely cruise, also, but, as well as the costs, involved, not sure how enjoyable this could be by myself and with problems with mobility.
My 'holidays' are always just visiting my adult children. Cannot remember last time I actually went away apart from these.
Think these will just remain unrealised dreams.

I would love to go to Canada. It looks so beautiful. What stops me.... the cost used to be the reason, but now we are looking after father-in-law so we are committed to his care 24/7. Maybe one day we will make the trip.... fingers scrossed

New Zealand and Australia

I would repeat a tour that we took two years ago. Route 66, Chicago to Santa Monica; what an absolutely fabulous holiday. I would go again tomorrow but finances simply don't allow it.

I've not travelled much and haven't been abroad for 20 years. I'd love to see European cities such as Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Barcelona etc. I could afford to travel, within reason, but I just do not want to travel on my own. I went away once on my own in the UK and did not like evenings on my own and a longer journey would just make me much more nervous.

I don't have any burning desire to visit far away places. Too much wasted time getting there. I am just as happy with family nearby

I would love to visit Russia it always seemed so mysterious when I was growing up!

The list is endless. I've been very fortunate in travelling afar on cruises with a good friend who sadly passed away last year. I would love to carry on and somehow see some of the places that were still on our to do list. That includes New Zealand, Russia and New England. I also want to go to Rome and revisit Venice

When I was about 10 years old, my father had the chance of working on Mauritius for two years. My parents seriously considered it but then decided not to. I have always thought I would love to go for a holiday (to see what we missed). When I met my husband (over 30 years ago) I found it has always been a dream destination of his too. We keep looking and thinking about it......one day hopefully!

Antarctica. A place like no other, but unfortunately too expensive.

South Africa - not sure which location as such a large country. Definitely ensure reliable travel insurance in place for any trip, especially long haul.. Senior citizen, but no pre-existing conditions fortunately.

Elba - though it'd be third time lucky !

First time we were booked, the travel company went bust !

Second time I awoke one morning and out of the blue had suffered two slipped discs and a crumbling spine !

Now fit again... and definitely always take Travel Insurance for the reasons listed above !!

So many places I would like to go, but hubby's health and mobility are stopping us. Insurance is an absolute must for us, wouldnt travel without it, but the cost of his insurance is by now more than the cost of the holiday
