Let’s talk about cruise travel with NCL - £300 voucher to be won

I always thought a cruise would not be for me as being stuck on a boat for weeks sounded a bit boring, but the older I get the more tempting the idea becomes and I now see it as a great way to travel different places and meet new people and the way the cruise liners are kitted out nowadays, boredom would be of little concern.

I have never been on a cruise. It may be something my husband and I may consider to go on, when we retire :D

Not been on a cruise and afraid I have no desire to. Since retiring hubby and I have spent most of our time together. Very unlike our working lives when we were like the proverbial ships that pass in the night juggling work with family life. We holiday in our campervan all year round but always pitch somewhere we can walk and cycle and enjoy each others company. The wilder and quieter the place the better for us. We avoid others! A good job we are all different in what we need and enjoy inn life.

I love cruising ! Being able to unpack just the once yet seeing different places throughout the holiday is just great. My tips are that the Caribbean is great value in late November ( after the hurricane season) for a pre Christmas break and dont pack too much - outfits that mix and match are really good. Dont worry about formal nights - most ships now are not too formal. Just go and enjoy being looked after.

Never been on one but would love to, just concerned that I'd return a stone heavier because of all of the food on offer.

Have been on a few mini cruises now, mainly to Bruges becaue we love the place so much, can get great deals, and I love the chocolate lol.
I love cruises, they are so family friendly, the last time we took the grandchildren too and they absolutely loved it. We swam in the pool, ate ice-cream and cake, played in the arcades and games rooms, and then watched some great films when the weather got a bit choppy!
People seem so friendly, the food has always been delicious, and there is always so much to do. I love a cruise!

Lol its true, you walk onto a cruise ship, and you get rolled off! Its a well known fact! :-D

I Seem to receive a Cruise holiday brochure in the post every other day which can be a little annoying at times. I love the sound of a cruise holiday though, but I do not like the prices especially when the price includes tips and gratuities, If I want to tip I will but I do not like the idea of paying up front for them.

I love the thought of a cruise, having everything at hand and seeing different places in the same holiday, but I am terrified of the size of the ships and worry I wouldn't dare get on it!

As a bad traveller I haven't been on a cruise yet but I really would love to see the world this way. A river cruise is very tempting.

I have a bit of an obsession with cruise holidays, but haven't yet been on one! My obsession was started by reading Here Come the Girls by Milly Johnson with absolutely wonderful descriptions of cruising around the Med and stopping off for days in Italy and the Greek Islands. I love looking at brochures and browsing the internet for all different types of cruises. The pennies are going in my cruise pot, so I'll definitely be booking one once we can afford it!

I love cruises you get to see different countries without have to lug a heavy case here there and everywhere and in extreme comfort too. I go on the smaller cruise ships as the big ones are just too big and too many people for me but the smaller ones are perfect. There is everything you need on the ship good food, entertainment and lovely excursions to go on, all this in comfort and being relaxed everything is so easy to do. I love them x

I love the idea of a cruise but concerned about the high cost of them.

I have never really wanted to go on a sunny Cruise, but I would like to go on a Nordic cruise to try and see the Northern Lights or Whales

Cruises do not appeal to me at all, it's like being confined to a hotel and only being let out occasionally!

I love being able to visit so many countries in one trip. The ships I've cruised on had amazing facilities and entertainment. No chance of getting bored.

My father recently went on a cruise and he had the best of times. Everyone was very friendly and remembered his name and his favourite food and coffee.
He saw some amazing places in a very relaxed and informal cruise

I would love to book a cruise and explore different places. Now my children are grown it is something I need to look into

We've been on several cruises, with Royal Caribbean and Marella, and thoroughly enjoyed them all. There are so many details you will want to know the answers to before you set off, for instance, what type of plug sockets are there, what currency is used onboard, are gratuities included, if not, what are they etc. etc., so a bit of research before you set off will make the holiday go smoothly. It is lovely to go to sleep in one country and wake up refreshed ready to visit another. On our first cruise I took a travel iron, but it was confiscated because of fire risk, and handed back on disembarking.

They are great. Some are better value for money than others. An excellent way to visit new places though. We went round the Caribbean and stopped in four or five ports. We liked jamaica so wen ton holiday there a few years later.

Make sure you check out what's above and below a cabin in terms of noise. And I wouldn't do a cruise from southampton in November - be better to fly and start the cruise somewhere warmer.

I have never been on a cruise and can't decide if I want to go on one! I love the idea of being on the boat but am concerned I'd feel claustrophobic! I could do with having the option to visit a cruise ship (a bit like an open day!) to see how it felt.
