I do see adverts, petra but they are probably more relevant to Mumsnet than Gransnet.

That does not mean I want to see adverts for funeral plans.

Isn’t that because the potential hasn’t been developed though petra? Gransnet is already part of Mumsnet, and I would think that it would be a shared GPT system. The ‘worst’ that could happen is that there would be a Gransnet section as part of the main Mumsnet site I think - and as there are plenty of older people on Mumsnet anyway, that might work well, or not, it would have to happen for us to know.

As for MumsGPT intelligence, they have a 6 billion word content.
Of course GN has a lot of useful content but a great deal of it is irrelevant to MN members. Average age 25- 45.

There is huge power in the grey pound though, and there are not many other platforms to gather the MumsGPT intelligence they want, so I think that will protect Gransnet.

All it says about future plans in the article is

Gransnet as a platform could certainly do with updating, as it regularly crashes, and to thrive it needs better functionality and more participants. I enjoy the involvement of participants from overseas , and as on Mumsnet main site, it could be organised into chat groups specific to people’s needs. I like Gransnet as it is, but like everything, if it doesn’t move on it gets stale.

Oh no, I hope Gransnet will be safe. I often feel that people on here are kind and offer great advice. Maybe because we are older and have more wisdom/ compassion because we have endured many of life's misfortunes.
