GNHQ here - please read

I think for those who mentioned MN, the two sites are very different. MN has its issues and is often robust but it's much bigger so it's quite hard to recognise posters, so therefore its tends not to be ongoing personal battles so much.

I think the coronavirus situation has brought out the worst in some people who have been very quick to criticise other views. Many people are very tense and anxious at present. There’s a lot of change and a lot to worry about. This doesn’t tend to bring out the best in those affected by this.

Well there you are....it is bizarre.....but it happened.

I think we are all tense as we’ve been worried about COVID-19 for so long.
I even fell out with my sister in the first weeks over something we would normally talk out and shrug off.

Whitewavemark2 if bizarre things happen we can put it down to the bizarre times we are all living through.
I for one can’t wait for this time to pass, and we’ll hopefully all be more positive and able to look forward to the rest of our lives. ?

puzzler thanks for that and yes, it is a shame. I just wish we could hear from ggteenth as to why she posted what she did and make peace.

Last year I had a volley of reports but those posters who kept reporting me are no longer here----I don't think. All because I stood my ground and they lost the plot, childish really !

Usually, when people argue on the internet, it’s not to resolve an issue or to understand each other, it’s just about spouting an opinion.

I have heard it described as like running into a brick wall, it's stupid, it wastes time and can leave you with a throbbing headache.

That's disgusting. I wonder why? It is ridiculous that GNHQ fall for this business of something being entirely one sided when it obviously isn't. Could they ban a few of the people who I can only describe as hypocritical please.

To be honest I’ve never ever seen someone attacking another poster with it being entirely one sided.

It is a shame that the banned person can’t defend herself as we only have one side of the story now.

Not if somebody screenshot the posts.

And if you doubt it then ask GNHQ.
If you didn’t read the posts then don’t pile in.

I am not "affected by Covid" nor am I hypocritical. I fully acknowledge that I can and do get into arguments on GN and don't back down. Nor do I try to pretend I don't, or that I am all sweetness and light. I'm a left -wing, bolshie woman and if I can't express my opinions on GN but have to turn in to a mealy mouthed syncophant to meet the demands of some sort of panel who are worried about advertising revenue then I urge them to be careful. The political threads of late have become fewer and fewer and they risk losing more than they gain.

Another thing about MN is that you can change your username as often as you like.
So it will be easy to escape a squabble and continue happily posting without being recognised.
Or to change name for something controversial or personal, maybe, then change back.

I’m sure HQ will defend their position, but we only have their word and I just think the whole thing has been most unfortunate.
