Marydoll I feel like giving up on the work bit. The government, the Health & Safety Executive and our customers keep changing what they want from us.

We laid off nearly all in two of our Assignment teams, now we are waiting to hear if we definitely need to get the back.

So I have give up at the moment until it becomes clear what the f..... Is going on.

But I am enjoying myself on here as it's taking away all the frustration.

I can't get used to the hour change, its coffee time chez Chateau Callistemon

there are families where there is a large age gap between siblings, DH is a pre-war version.

Callistemon in regard to your above post, surely they cannot be related.

However, with the same "clean crapper use obsession" I am beginning to wonder.

After all, the "Blackout" throughout the war years must have allowed all sorts of "Hanky Panky" to go on, and many must have taken wonderful advantage of that. So now I am thinking it is distinctly possible.

Just a minute, , , , , I have just remembered that my wife was not born until 1948.

So ñooooo not possible on that count unless it was a very extended pregnancy. ??

Callistemon in regard to your request of me in your post @20:50 my wife does have a brother but I can assure you that she would not be related in any way to your husband.

She is most definitely is one of a kind. Our three daughters are always saying they broke the mould after they made our mother. ?

I had great sympathy with him (on that particular occasion) because a couple of nights previously, she had brought in a large dead rat and placed it at his feet. I can see the charm of a washing up sponge for a cat though: nice and light and easy on the paw. I have a bag full of cheap colourful ones that my toddler granddaughters can make towers with.

Grandad are your dear wife and my dear husband related?
He doesn't have a sister, as far as I know ....

Minnie has a habit of leaving washing up sponges in random places, treading on one in the dark while on the way to the toilet can be very disconcerting!

In the spirit of your thread title phoenix here's something to consider: if I wish to tell a funny story, I'm not likely to make it all about me. I'm much more interested in other people and what they are about. As I live with Mr L and the cat and the cat doesn't often do anything particularly comical, I'm more likely to relate a story about himself. As I did fairly recently when, early in the morning, he trod on a tiny cat toy but imagined it might be a dead mouse. The resulting shenanigans took out a console table, a rather nice pottery bowl containing 3 flowering orchids and a mobile phone. And almost Mr L himself.

Phoenix I believe we are under strict orders from GNHQ to withdraw from such discussion as you laid out in the OP.

However, if I have misinterpreted what they have stated, carry on and I will join as appropriate.

Sorry ,Grandad1943 you did post a rather unsettling post, in response to one of mine, God knows how long ago, if, as you say your memory is good, then I'm sure you will be able to recall it.

I'm notgoing to be distracted by cleaning tips, I want to hold fast to the points made in my OP. which I think are valid, IF you read them, especially the last few sentences/paragraphs!

Marydoll if anyone wants a bathroom cleaned, I'm your man.

What really gets to me however is that we have upstairs a bathroom and a shower room adjacent to our bedroom. We also have a toilet downstairs. However, whichever one I have just cleaned my wife always insists on using that one and not one coming up for cleaning.

If ever there is to be a divorce between us it will be over her using my spotless and sparkling crappers. ?

I feel your pain. Sparkling bathrooms are to be admired, not used!!!?

Marydoll in regard to your post @17:25 today, then yes I do have a small electric rotary brush to get in and around all the awkward bits in the Bathrooms such as behind the taps etc.

In regard to the rest I prefer Dettol bathroom cleaner and spray it on all the surfaces, wipe it down with a wet sponge, and then comes the ultimate, I dry it all down with towels. That brings about a lovely shine and sparkle on everything.

My wife reckons that the dry polish stage is way over the top, but she always has to admit that it all looks fantastic when finished.

However the washing machine gets a "right ole bashing doing all those towels after I have finished, but I am always sat there in great satisfaction. ?

However, I always cuss bline when my wife or whoever goes up to use my sparkling shiny crapper. ?

*Callistemon, typing teacher - I'm your girl (well, woman); I was a shorthand typist many years ago. Can still type really fast, but can't for the life of me remember much shorthand. However, am only good on a proper keyboard, typing on my tablet drives me nuts; have to type with one finger, which is much slower than touch typing, and I keep hitting the wrong 'keys'. ???
