We're VERY excited to announce that we are finally testing out a new site design! We've been working really hard to make sure it's easier to user and looks neater than the current format.
It is a test though and it may take a day or two to get used to. Apologies in advance for any teething problems - hopefully they'll be minimal. If you have any major problems logging in or you can't access certain things please post on this thread or email us at contactus. We'd love to have your thoughts.
My fonts the same as before, just normal I don't know what youre all on about and the same size ?????? Obviously I can make it bigger or smaller myself but it s coming up usual size ? Not sure aboutitalics
I'm afraid I'm finding it hard to read. Admittedly I would use a blue type against a white background (Guest posts are much easier) so the letters stay still which is probably not a problem many have. I don't know what has changed type-wise but it is more difficult for me.
I use a tablet and try to keep my Gransnet on the 'desktop' style. Please leave me that option! I think that would be a deal breaker for me. If I don't feel comfortable with the look of it I won't want to visit.
I much prefer this new font. I really struggle to see screens clearly and end up squinting other having to try to enlarge the written word, but this is so much better. If the emojis could be a little bigger too, that would be great!
Lona when I m on 'mobile' because I use an iPad your italics didn't work at all in your message BUT if I put my iPad onto 'desktop' then your italics do work Can anyone explain this ?
the font is too old fathioned, not appealing and needs to be a tad stronger. Screen very white on iPad. If I try to adjust brightness then font loses definition. Don't like grey headers but anything better than the pinky colour we had before.
I've only looked on the tablet so far and the font is smaller than before. OK I can adjust that, but can I change the font? (I don't like the serifs either)
Well ain't this just terrific - stereotyping or what? So Mumsnet has lots of colour and a modern, sans-serif font, while we grans get the monochrome look with an old-fashioned serified font. To match the boring, grey-haired, old-fashioned bunch that they obviously think we are
Are they listening do you think? Will it be a case of we get what we are given? Will we have to wear a wishy-washy lanyard? Sorry, last bit wrong thread.
