Well they don't delete many posts, not even all those that are reported.

There are plenty of threads where controversy never rears its ugly head for peace-loving members to express their views. Why they should choose not to post at all is beyond me.

We like these threads, talking about us, don't we? they're always the threads that go and on.

I can't understand why people choose not to post again 'because of the unpleasant behaviour on some threads.'

They then enter into PM conversations presumably about issues discussed on threads they don't want to post on but can't resist reading.

Takes all sorts I suppose.

The pms are about anything and everything and not about threads. I am not alone in ducking out of threads that get personal. There is no point in continuing with them - there are plenty of other things to do!

I can see that anyone might choose to drop out of a thread for whatever reason you think appropriate, what i don't understand are those who say they are going to drop out and then stay on to explain just how awful the other posters are. Why?

Anyone notice that one of the "Discussions of the day" has had its OP deleted. I think it shows how GNHQ are in absolute chaos and delete or remove posts on some sort of whim. In fact I believe they don't even bother to read things! How can you have a discussion about something that isn't there?

It sounds as though the OP requested the post to be withdrawn for some reason, perhaps fearing that too much personal information had been disclosed.

I agree that the most likely explanation is that the OP asked for it to be removed. It is good that HQ respond to these requests.

Why not remove it from the 'discussion of the day' list?

It isn't in the Discussions of the Day list. It is in the Active list, where it will remain until people stop posting comments on it.

I wonder whether it is because there are not that many discussions that reamin discussions and dont turn into disagreements.
At 10.30 am or whenever, on a certain morning, they can only go with what "discussions" are available.

PS Babysitting isn't on either of those Discussions of the Day lists on my iPad either. Definitely lost, me.

Babysitting has been on mine [thread about the lady whose parents or parents in law, I forget which, lost her eldest child in the woods when playing hide and seek]. I am on a PC.
