SCAM! Couture Moda

This scam company, Couture Moda were featured on Watchdog on The One Show this week so thousands of people have been scammed.

The dreadful reviews just flood in every day on Trust Pilot. Sometimes bogus good reviews appear, maybe 3 or 4 together with obviously fictitious names for reviewers.

if an offer 'sounds to good to be true' or too much of a bargain! well. you know what they say.

Reading this, I am quite glad I can only afford Sketchers….😉

I was scammed - well nearly scammed - by a Gudrun Sjoden fake site.
It was supposed to be an outlet sale and was all last season's items so believable.
Some of the discounts were quite hefty and so I checked all the Ts & Cs but of course they had copied those too so still looked OK. My card company rejected the sale initially and phoned me but i missed the call and then I felt I'd wasted too much time.

It was late at night and in the morning the website had a massive "flash" across it saying beware - they hadn't opened a Gudrun outlet.

Gosh, I buy a lot from GS. Just shows you scammers are everywhere. A few months ago there were numerous fake adverts for SeaSalt on Facebook. Looked genuine but offering big discounts which I immediately knew was bogus but thousands of people were caught out.

If you look on companies house they have a registration address and list of directors and secretary's in the UK, you could use them if you need to take things further.

That is a company with a similar name Moda Couture Ltd but thanks.

I only buy clothes online from reputable known companies - Lands End, Pavers, Culture Vulture etc. Never ever buy bargain goods from unfamiliar companies.

It is just not worth the risk.

Scammers have made identical copies of some clothing websites, one was Lands End, but the ordering link takes you to the scammer's account. Incredibly hard to spot and fooled many who thought they were dealing with the reputable company.

I have sent countless emails to which they do reply but try every trick not to issue a refund. They are far too small and not the size I ordered.

They agree they sent the wrong size but still want me to post them back to China (approx £20). They say they do not issue pre paid labels. Today they say they were Sales goods and they do not give refunds on sales items. I pointed out they sent wrong size so it’s up to them to pay postage and refund.

I googled “Ladies fashion trainers with zips” and this firm came up alongside most well known ones. It looked just the same as the others with a base in London.

I am usually very good at recognising scams and have never been a victim. In my defence I have a poorly husband who needs my help just about 24/7 so by the time I sit down at night my brain is mush.

Note to self - do not order anything when you are half asleep!

I was 'scammed' by a trainer company. Ad looked OK but as a complete beginner when it comes to scams I know nothing. So, a clicked on 'buy now' and some weeks later 2 pairs arrived. Turns out it was BOGOF. The second pair however were far too small. I tried to return them, to no avail. Then a 'winter'vesion came out. I went through the form meticulously. No mistakes. So I sent off for a pair - and again received 2 pairs (paid for by me). Not only that but I couldn't get my foot in, so IMMEDIATELY I contacted the company. Advertised 100% return policy turned out to be anything other. First they offered me 50% and to keep them. Then when I resisted that it went down to 25% and to keep or dispose of items. That seemed to be missing the point. I was losing the will to argue anymore, but I tried one last move. The company said that by now I was out of time.
Anyone else had trouble with Hike?

I told myself years ago I wasn’t going to go down this rabbit hole anymore. But when you did it for so long you can’t help yourself 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ve just done a search on this coat which is on their website.
It’s made by Ralph Lauren.

I just want companies who advertise could be required to state country of origin. That would stop all the nonsense.

Or you could, presumably, reject them...
But may not get the money back.

Oh dear, Moda is one of the original scammers.
When I was on FB around 2016 a group of us tried our best to get these sites banned. Mr Zuckerberg didn’t take too kindly to our comments. We all worked for hours getting info.
Eventually instead of Mr Zuckerberg banning these sites he banned us 😂 You have to laugh.
I’ve realised ( a long time ago) that we were all wasting our time.
It won’t stop.
