Too late now Bestwishes, I have posted my opinions on some involved in the wedding. Please explain why you accused me of being malicious

Dannirae you’re right, his message of love to all didn’t last long did it?
And I’m at fault too for allowing someone to wind me up just because I have a different opinion of something. My mother always said ’ if you can’t say something nice about someone don’t say anything’ and I should have remembered that earlier.

Last Saturday it was said I was nit picking because I had been through a lot lately , I have spoken on one thread here of my grief , never on any other thread. Anniebach I have formed an impression that your attitude to religion is very conventional and not at all progressive. This is your choice, but is not my choice. There are bound to be clashes when an unconventional and progressive preacher such as Michael Curry is involved in, what have been until this amazing wedding, hyper-conventional royal affairs.

And ,yes, church weddings of commoners frequently are hyper-conventional too.

We seem to have drifted a long way from the Bishop's message of love being everything...............don't you think?

But the point is that he ‘believed ‘ that,that was his golden opportunity to preach the word of ‘ The Lord’ so from that view point he was correct.

Well I cant see how that sermon insulted anyone actually. Embarrassed maybe, bored maybe, but insulted , no!
D'you know , Ive been looking at twitter comments about the wedding and many are so ignorant, offensive , badly spelt etc , thst I have realised how much better GN is. I enjoy the well informed, articulate discussions largely without swearing or personal abuse! Even when I disagree with the comments. Long may it last!

Would it Bridgeit ? All I can recall of Christ attending a wedding is the wedding at Cana where he turned water into wine, no mention of insulting or preaching to the guests .

I cannot recall anyone in prison for child abuse being ordained a priest . To bring in child abuse just trivialised murder

The bishop was not there to preach to the world and his friend, he was rude and pig ignorant to families and guests, that is not love, well I suppose it is love of one’s own voice and ego. He insulted the guests , are charities around the world flooded with donations today ?

Just comparing Anniebachs reference to Episcopalians seeming to condone stabbing, which seemed to be an odd comment.
All religions have their bad apples.
And you of course are correct about child abuse, it isn’t a joke and my comment was not meant to be amusing.
You can’t start condemning just one religion.

I was shocked by your comment Bestwishes. Child abuse isn’t something I’d ‘joke’ about as a means of criticising religion.

To be fair to bishop Curry he wasn't only preaching to that congregation -he was aware that he was speaking to a worldwide audience of millions and took the oppirtunity get his message about the transforming power of love across. But I do agree that the message would have been better received if he has spoken for half the time -he lost me on the repeats towards the end. And it would have been nice if he had directed some of his message to the young couple which is what a weddi g address usually does.
I dont think its fair to blame Harry & Meghan for patrinising - they didnt write the address. And tgey do do a lot of chrity work. Harry has worked with communities affected by AIDs in Africa after all. He cant helo tge family he was born in to and the state tends to take over for weddings . They did their best by inviting so may ordinary people into the grounds of Windsor castle to watch -that's never been done before I think.
