Cat scratching contraption

I’m feeling very proud of myself! I bought an expensive handmade solid scratching thingy (that my son in law called ‘the flats!’) many years ago at a cat show. Over the years my cats past and present had destroyed two of the sisal rope uprights and I’ve just managed to redo them all on my own!

My DD's cat has something similar but it hasn't stopped her stripping the wallpaper. (DD's cat that is not DD)

Good for you NansyPansy!

My one cat approves of the scratching board I have put up on the inner side of the back door. She carefully hones her claws every morning on it, before going out, and has my permission to use the doormat as well.

Her brother on the other hand regards the use of these as too girly, and sharpens his claws resolutely on there euro-pallet leaning against the wood-shed.
