Most of the breeds have rescue organisations, just google whateveryourbreed rescue. We looked at Beddlington Terrier rescue but they wanted a six foot fence all around the garden! If you don’t have any cats a greyhound might be a good choice. My DS in Spain is involved with greyhound rescue and I was surprised at how gentle they are. They don’t really need masses of exercise although they look as though they do. He has three if his own, and frequently fosters another one who is waiting for adoption. There is a rescue centre in Boston.

Have you looked at somewhere like Spaniel aid? I do think their prices are a bit high for rehoming. Other breeds also have dedicated rescue sites. This might be better than a general rescue centre
