Lazy or trying to sound cool? You judge

Lazy or trying to sound cool? Or just typical examples of language evolving naturally, as it has always done?

I don't mind "go-to", as it has a meaning not neatly covered by any other phrase, but I agree that "going forward" and "forward planning" are ridiculous and add nothing to the meaning.

On the same pattern as "judgy", I've noticed that on TV singing competitions like The Voice, the judges may describe a performance as "a bit pitchy". What they mean is "out of tune", which is an unforgivable fault in a singer, even if they try to correct it with that ghastly "autotune".

I contacted a company that was to send out a parcel to me by post. It should have arrived days ago and so I called to confirm the date it had been sent. The young man in their despatch department said "We posted that to yourself on...". When did "you" become unacceptable?

I have even heard people say that they reversed their car back.

My limited knowledge of the standard gearbox notwithstanding, it would be difficult to progress forwards in reverse! Might even cost you a new gearbox!

It sounds a bit Antipodean/ cool/ diminutive but was clearly intended to mean "judgemental*
I also hate "picks" believing in my innocence that they were little bits of wood you cleaned between your teeth with or alternatively a spiky thing to help in mountaineering.

Oh yes brOadwater I hate that too its used more and more now. Forward planning is another one and looking back in retrospect. Think I will shut up now

Well if we're discussing phrases, my pet hate is 'going forward'. Invariably the sentence means exactly the same without.

I really dislike these 'hip' words and phrases. I particularly dislike ' go to' as in 'trousers are my go to option'.
