Little Noah, missing 3 year old

A 3 year old boy is missing in Brantham, Suffolk since 3pm yesterday.

Little Noah is partially deaf, and non-verbal and ā€œallegedlyā€ ran out of a park and down an alleyway whilst out with his grandfather.

I truly hope and pray that this little lad is found very soon, safe and sound, and returned to his family who must be frantic.

😢😢😢

That poor grandfather, he must be devastated. I wonder if it was criminal damage which caused the hole in the fence, because most playgrounds are very secure these days.

This poor little lad's inquest was held today. It seems he got out of the playground through a gap in the fence and into a memorial garden where there were no fences or gates. His Grandfather spotted him and gave chase but lost sight of him.
So tragic for all concerned.

Having a large pond in some woodland 100 yards from a new estate seems too dangerous to me.Bound to be young kids on this estate and in hot Summers teenagers who will end up in trouble in the weed filled water.

I agree. Maybe, far too late for this family, this might prompt fencing and strong gates, around both the water and the play area.

Go Fund Me £71,000

Maybe that could go towards fencing the lake.

Or installing secure, self closing gates at the park with release buttons that toddlers cannot reach. All my local parks have them.

Absolutely heartbreaking.

I've "lost" my DC for short periods and a few years ago our then 8 yr old DGD disappeared for 20 mins in a busy park in the city centre. Everyone looked suspicious.
She had run on ahead and was found at the top of a climbing frame oblivious that she was lost.

After that we considered a tracker. Lots of families use them.

I walk my dog in a lovely park near my house. There's a children's play area there. It's surrounded by a strong metal fence and the gates are too heavy for a toddler to open,

I notice that some parents in there spend more time on their phones than they do playing with their children. I don't know if Noah's play area was as safe so I only hope that isn't what Noah's relative was doing.

It was said he fell over whilst chasing him. Not good to suggest he might be to blame.

It's devastating. Poor little chap. And how terrible must the grandfather be feeling?

When renovating our Georgian house we found an 19th century newspaper with an announcement in the deaths column about a three-year-old who had died 'on a visit to her grandmama'. It's stayed with me for 50 years and I've always felt sad for that long gone family, as I do for Noah's family now.

I agree and hope the local authority take action to securely fence the large pond off, otherwise Noah may not be the only tragedy.

Posting today. Have found this little boys body in a nearby lake

Very sad must be heartbreaking for the parents.

Maybe in the future, a case for putting some kind of tracking device on vulnerable children when they are out and about. Linked to a mobile phone!

Such a sad ending for those parents.RIP little Noah

Our play area has a very strong metal gate which makes it impossible for a child to open it and opens towards you.
Very sad, thinking of little Noah x

So sorry to hear the dreadful news.It is so easy for little ones to get lost no matter how much you ty to keep them in your sight. I feel for the family in their deep sorrow.

Fairislecable Thu 17-Sept-26 12:27:51

I saw a small child wandering alone on a busy dual carriageway I turned my car around and got out and spoke to him.

He told me he was just going to the stream ( just 100 yards away!). He was insistent that he was fine and I didn’t want to physically try to stop him, luckily another man stopped and he called the police.

They came quickly and were checking for reports of missing children. The police motorcycle and uniforms distracted the child enough whilst they questioned me on where I had taken the child from and had I got immigration papers! ( USA).

It was fine once they had a missing child report, he was 3 and had walked over half a mile to get to the stream.

Children don’t always do what we expect of them and I feel deep sorrow for the grandparent the pain of loss and blame will feel unbearable.

OldFrill Thu 17-Sept-26 11:46:53

The police released CCTV of Noah playing with the roundabout shortly before he went missing.

The park is fenced.

When my son was small, I let go of his hand for seconds to push my bag back over my shoulder. I reached down again and he was gone. I was in a large store, close to the open front doors with a busy road outside. He was found within a minute, holding the hand of a salesman and crying - evidently he had stepped back and gone behind a rail of clothing. I have never forgotten the feeling of sickness and panic for that moment - and that is how easy it is.
My heart goes out to the family and to that poor grandfather, who will carry that and be haunted by it for the rest of his life.

A very sad outcome. Poor little boy, poor Grandad, he must be absolutely devastated. The whole family will be suffering so much.

Sadly CCTV wouldn't have helped little Noah. The children's play area should be fenced off and that huge pond/lake as well.

Yes I agree. Imagine putting a park near a rural pond, especially with no fencing.
At least services may have had a clue which direction he went in, but I suppose by the time they get access to footage it would have been too late anyway šŸ˜ž

I am beginning to think there should be cctv around all park’s & entrances to parks.
Especially now there are strangers near these parks.
Checked ours out yesterday. Nope nothing like that.
Not just to keep an eye on the youngsters, but after hour activities. People doing drugs, vandalism, etc.
RIP little man 🧸

One thing that puzzles me is that most children’s play areas are fenced in which helps keep the children safe. It sounds like this wasn’t so in this case and little Noah was able to run off. A dreadful outcome. My heart goes out to the family.
