Richard O'Sullivan has died

I had a huge crush on him when he appeared in Doctor At Large in the 70's.
Sad to hear that he has died.

wasn't he in a nursing home last few years? i thought he was gorgeous when he was in Man About The House which was and still is one of my favorite comedies.

He has been in a care home for 23 years following a dreadful Stroke. RIP Richard. You gave us lots of laughs.

Very sad. He was a very good and entertaining actor (plus handsome too!)

I think it was the same care home as Mike Yarwood was in.

He was a lovely man, talented and funny in a good clean way, not like so many since.

Here he is with Mike Yarwood at the Care Home. It's sad that he ended up in care for so many years instead of living a free life with a partner, but at least he was cared for after his stroke.

He lived in our village with Tessa Wyatt. He kept a very low profile.

I recall him in Man About the House and Robin’s Nest. Always liked him but didn’t see much of him after these two sitcoms.
Thoughts are with his loved ones and friends 💐

I was just about to say that he was far too young, hadn't realised he was 82. I'm just remembering him as he was years ago.

Glad to see at least his stroke left him still able to walk, but terrible he had to spend that length of time in a nursing home.

Perhaps this was better, looks like Mike Yarwood is there too. I imagine that for show business veterans it must be reassuring to be with those they recognise or have had similar careers.

I didn't know Mike Yarwood was dead! I think it was Richard O'Sullivan who played in a Celebrity football match locally many, many years ago.

I remember Mick McManus. That was in the days of Jackie Pallo and the Giant Haystack. I liked the tag wrestling best.

We always used to watch the wrestling with my dad. I remember Jackie Palow, Billy two Rivers and I think it was Ricky Starr Every Saturday afternoon….

That’s if my memory serves me correctly…

I loved him. i remember him playing hard done by schoolboys in films and he played Elizabeth Taylor's brother in Cleopatra. In 1963 I had a holiday job with some girls who knew him, but sadly I never got to meet him.

He was lovely as a pupil in Carry on Teacher (1959) which is a really sweet film if you get the chance.

Everything about him here, and wow he was in a lot of movies and TV series!

The Cleopatra film must have been quite a coup for a young actor, playing the brother of Elizabeth Taylor and having to act with her and Richard Burton!
