He is suing in the US to stop laws against his deep fake porn.

Grok is subject to strict regulations and geoblocking in the U.K. and cannot be used for the doctoring of images since 15-16th January this year.

I have no idea what other European countries have done or if it can still be used for doctoring images elsewhere in the world.

I think the genie is well and truly out of the bottle and AI is racing far ahead of any man made rules and practices and protocols and is terrifying.

I've been quite stunned by the developments of AI technology in recent years, so have many of us, I suppose.
Finding out that publicly available tools, made by the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, are being used to create horrible and abusive images of women and children has really shocked me however.
Grok, whatever that means, can take any image, (God knows how many I have of my family out there), and turn it into something quite wicked.
I first heard about this in this Mumsnet post (https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/_chat/5469729-grok-x-twitter-has-been-enabling-abuse-of-women-children-through-digital-image-manipulation-then-manipulated-into-apologising) but also saw that an MP is suing him (https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/jul/28/jess-asato-labour-mp-sue-elon-musk-xai-chatbot-abusive-content).
What does everyone think? I'm flummoxed.
