It was not ‘one murder ‘ though was it?
43-year-old Thomas Hamilton killed 16 pupils and one teacher and injured 15 others before killing himself. It remains the deadliest mass shooting in British history.
Not to mention traumatising every child in that school, the staff and parents. Remember it vividly. It was on my birthday and I was at the time a serving teacher.
We realised that there but for the grace of God, and hopefully British gun control, etc etc.

Andy Murray was at Dunblane Primary School in 1996 and he remembers hiding under a desk with his older brother Jamie while Thomas Hamilton was on the rampage. Andy was only eight at the time but he later wrote that he still has difficulty processing what happened so what if must be like for those families who lost love ones can only be imagined.

It is clear that Rupert Lowe wants to drum up some kind of gun lobby and like his American counterparts he places more value on gun ownership than on the safety of children. His dismissive attitude in describing the Dunblane massacre as "one murder" is typical of the rhetoric of gun lobbyists.

Lowe has been irritable about gun control since his father lost his shooting pistols, taken as part of the ban on handguns.

Last year his own large gun collection was removed by police (and later returned) after Zia Yusuf and Lee Anderson made complaints about him. He has so many guns he trundles them around in a wheelbarrow.

He’s a angry, hate-filled man much of the time and frankly I’m surprised the police let him renew his certificates. If he thinks Dunblane was one murder (and he didn’t say it once but twice when Rogan asked him to confirm), then his faculties are not what they should be.

It really is time that we started to take these people seriously, and stop underestimating them.

The politics they represent are straight out of the neofascist play book - something we fought and lost millions of lives to successfully defeat.

Never let those lives be in vain.

The Joe Rogan podcast has 11 million listers per episode. And no RL is not an insensitive oaf- he is a man prepared to use and lie about to make a point about gun control. That’s not insensitive, it’s wicked

My suggestion is Mr Lowe re-locates tuit de suite to America, where he can purchase as many guns as he desires!

He’s well educated enough to know that it was a very serious murderous event where so many young children were shot dead or wounded.
The man is an insensitive oaf.

Interesting use of language here. Yes it was one murderous event which led to Lowe’s father having his own handguns removed. So we assume that Mr Lowe Sr was not a potential assassin?

It’s not an interesting use of language at all. One murder is not the same as one murderous event

He appears annoyed that his father's pistols were taken away after the slaughter of those children, presumably because of the ban on hand guns.

... and that's more important than guns getting into the wrong hands - like the perpetrator of those horrific murders?

Apparently, he wants to "release the individual". Judging by the egos, emotional immaturity and narcissism of some "individuals" - I think the very last thing they need to be in possession of, is hand guns.

Dear God, please do not allow us to go down the 'American' route...

I certainly remember Dunblane and the class photo brings tears to my eyes.
