In the immortal words of Brenda from Bristol, «Not another one!»

This is a wheeze, a dodge, a distraction, an expensive waste of time and an attempt to wriggle out of the morass he has got himself into,

Would you all be happy with a bin representing you?

The bin contains an intelligent and articulate human being. with a comic bent. I don't have a problem with that.

Remember the sneering at Zelensky for having been a 'comedian' (albeit one with a law degree)? Anyone sneering now?

Brexit caused us a huge issue with HGV drivers and the Tories did attempt to address this by massively funding training for those out of work to retrain. It didn’t really pan out, it also left us with a deficit of baggage handlers at airports, which again both the civil aviation and govt attempted to address by encouraging our 18-24 year old NEETs to train in, again not very successfully.

Then there’s the roles we know still have huge holes, Nurses/Doctors/GPs/Dentists/Carers/Early Years/Nursery Staff.

Youth unemployment is a big issue and part of it, sadly, is down to lack of motivation and aspiration, which needs to start in Secondary Schools, but many of the careers staff have been laid off due to school budget deficits.

The Bin is an Oxford graduate, so I suspect he has some intellectual ability.

Errr perhaps the fact that some of the general public and even football supporters even at games he attended chanted Starmers a xxxxxx didn't help and he was the most disliked PM ever, I think yes his party did the dirty on him but only because they realised he couldn't win another General Election because the majority of the British public disliked him.

I think the salient point here is, if Mr Farage genuinely cares about his constituency, would he really leave them totally without representation and cause this media circus? Cossy

I totally agree with you. They might as well have a bin representing them.

Well they might well find they have in the future 🤣🤣🤣

And from then on Farage could be known as the HasBinMan!

These are actual people you know. They deserve more than a comedian inside a bin.

They deserve better than Farage that's the whole point. The fact that the only one standing against him is a bin is ludicrous.

I don't think that 'the bin' is the only person intending to stand against Farage. We'll have to wait until the candidates are announced before we really know.

In the meantime, are the people who are lamenting the lack of choice for the people of Clacton (and its environs) actually defending Farage's totally unnecessary gambit?

If they are, could they explain why it was so vital?

I think that it is utterly despicable that Farage is using his voters in this way. Can anyone persuade me to change my mind?

They chose Farage. If I was the other parties I might for one second think what that means.

Do you mean, the message that sends?

I absolutely agree with you, having said that though the “promises” Farage is making aren’t actually do-able, not in the timescales people now demand.

How is he going to stop the boats? What will he do (within current laws/legislation) that both Tories and Labour haven’t done? How can he dramatically raise the tax threshold without any proper costing? As for the NHS, I’ve no idea what he proposes for this now, given that his “suggestions” for this appear to have wavered. How is he going to radically and dramatically and quickly improve the working man’s life?

I think the Uniparty have created one almighty mess of this country in recent years. Importing millions of foreigners and the associated costs have ensured we cannot protect ourselves militarily.

We are a nation divided by the policies these parasitic politicians have imposed on hard working decent British people.

And the foreigners that used to come here before Farages Brexit, the lorry drivers, builders etc no longer come here thanks to him and the fact they were made unwelcome after the referendum. We now have just as many immigrants I believe but I’ve no idea what their skills are. And why mention immigrants. I thought the leave voters and Reform supporters are always telling us it isn’t about ‘ foreigners’?

Cossy are you warm enough down the coast ?

Yep!! More than warm enough! How about you?

We have our bedroom in a loft extensions, it’s hideously hot, luckily our living room faces east and doesn’t get much sun as all the other terraced houses block it, so with a good powerful fan, curtains closed and lots of cold drinks it feels quite nice! Only issue is it’s so nice and cool I feel energised but then when I enter our other rooms the heat really hits home and I’ve done so little of anything throughout the hot weather!

Sunshinegirls, you make reference at 8.04 today to Mr Trump's " thumping majority".
Do you feel that Mr Trump has made good decisions for the people of the USA?

Inside the bin could be an intelligent resourceful person who may have others welfare at heart for all we know. Perhaps he would be better for Clacton. Who knows?

MissAdventure Thu 09-Jul-26 11:35:27

So you'd be happy?

AGAA4 Thu 09-Jul-26 11:33:31

Nothing wrong with a bin. It actually does the job it's meant to do unlike Farage.

Cossy there are a myriad of political parties in the UK , but for many years our political system has been dominated by two, Labour and Conservative.

Which is why in my post I made a point of saying ^two main parties^

Oh I do agree, and my most wasn’t directed at you, but others who insist we only have two parties.

I agree, we do only have two main parties, but when it comes to actually voting, we do have choices (even if they are not necessarily great choices)
