I haven’t any time for the nonsense printed about them. Newspapers have made an industry out of it knitting fog with opinions as facts.
However, the whole working royals and security thing seems nonsense.
If Queen Elizabeth and King Charles wanted the security provided I am sure it would have been for their offsprings and wife.
Strange they would want them to be at risk of kidnap or worse when obvious targets being Royal.

They would get the normal security that most of royalty get, but not armed guards, because in this country armed guards are unusual except for working royals, and Harry and Meghan opted out of being working royals when they flounced off to the US. The rest of the royal family go about their normal business without an entourage, or they pay for it themselves - which the Sussexes can well afford.

They are no more likely to be kidnapped or assassinated than any other more distant member of the royal family, and gun crime in the UK is far far lower than in the states. They are probably in more danger from American lunatics than from British ones.

Of course, by their constant seeking of publicity and the amount of noise they make, they have made themselves very noticeable, which makes them a more obvious target.

She is right to do no public events..she is a laughing stock over here. And her precious ego would not cope with being booed/laughed at.
What a fool she was telling all those lies on Oprah....what a fool was Oprah for having held the interview!

Personally I think she realises how unpopular she is over here and is scared that she will get booed if she appears in public. However, the press is bound to find her if she does come and there will be photos no doubt - probably organised by her!

Wonder who released the information that she and the children are coming privately 🙄

I think what annoys me so much is that by her rudeness in refusing to make a decision about a visit she once again makes headline news.

Perhaps Harry's stupid loss of money via his court case has made her rethink her opposition the wealthy, but very careful, King.

Impossible to ignore her even though there are far more serious items in the news.

Someone should have taught Harry not to wash his dirty linen in public. Complaining about your family to the press, in an interview and in a book is unforgivable, especially someone like him who was born to a life of privilege. He could have continued to be commended for his brave actions as a soldier, but instead he has hurt his family including his brother to whom he should have been giving his support, given the tragic death of their mother. He could have filled a valuable royal role within the family instead of complaining about being a ‘spare’. It is time that he apologised.

If Harry could sort out his security arrangements ie pay for extra protection himself, and bring his two little children , we would all fall in love with them ! Soft power would work again.

It’s not that simple. Harry has already said he would pay for his own security but unlike in the USA, they would not be allowed to carry guns in the UK. Armed protection is only carried out by authorised police officers and you can’t just hire them.

The king’s visit to USA was called “soft power”. It was very successful.

I like both Harry and William, I don't think William's saintly ie goody-goody, he's a bit earnest but that's not surprising given his role.

I hope it's Charles(no doubt at the behest of Palace staffers) who is dragging his feet on a reconcilliation, I'd like to think William would want his father and brother to see each other, but what do we know?

Considering it was the Mail who was the main instigator in bringing her son's killers to justice I think she was misguided to say the least, in joining Harry, allegedly, when he contacted her to join him

Why hasn’t M and H visited him as he has been very ill Afterall we r led to believe they had a wonderful relationship when he brought her up. Infact he paid for her to go to an exclusive school. Some thanks she has given him. So it’s of no surprise that H has done the same and copied her

On any estrangement threads there are always really sad accounts . This is just another one.
Would either side of the estrangement really want the publicity that this topic engenders?
If you walked out, saying you wanted out of the family business, then publicised all your family’s personal disputes, would you truly expect to be welcomed back?

Their mother adored her son's. Both equally.

King Charles should behave in a kindly manner towards his youngest son. He should behave with dignity and respect the woman he loves and who he married. The gutter press are despicable too but what does one expect. Bless their little grandchildren. Our late Queen loved Harry too. Megan did not realise for sure that it's very English to not use another relatives pet nickname or childhood name. Be kind to him and the little family he has created. Remember the Americans are just different from the Brits.
