I don’t think it’s that so much as most people not being fully aware of how much influence Russia has on leading political figures on the right. The vast majority of the UK population, whatever their political persuasion, are anti the Putin regime. When it transpires what exactly they have been doing I think political allegiances will change.
I agree with this analysis. The seeds of anti-Muslim propoganda sown by Russia have found a fertile ground with many decent people here, & because so many of us despise Farage and his "Broken Britain" & " they care more about the illegals than us native Britons" rhetoric, we push back & it becomes more than a discussion, more of a political partisan rivalry that we havent had in the UK for a century.
In this climate, any images "proving" a harm by an immigrant go viral on social media & re-inforce the Reform / Russian message.
But nothing suggests to me Reform supporters would tolerate Russian interference or regard Russia as benign. Trouble is, Trump's invented "fake news" and so many will just pass this factual evidence off as that because it suits the narrative they're crusading for.
Lots of ammunition for opposing Reform come the election though, especially if (as looks likely) they field dire candidates.
