Raise the Colours founder charged with murder...

My community is not “ finished” neither are the places I have had the pleasure of visiting recently. Beverley is a thriving market town . My daughter lives in Beeston Nottingham and she has a great high street at the bottom of her road. Our curry was the city of culture last year and has benefitted from the positive vibes.
My little town is holding a volunteers’ fair this week where I am proud to help out and maybe sign up for some more volunteering,
Our Saturday Park Run has over 500 participants on a regular basis. Everybody encourages you from the fastest runner to the little old walkers like my friend and I. Our community choir is thriving in four different towns and caters for all ages, abilities and is fully inclusive. My walking netball group has 35 registered members who play on a regular basis.
Does all of this sound like a “ broken” Britain.? No! Of course it doesn’t !
Negativity gets you nowhere.

Don't you think that it's our present circumstances that has brought such political parties to the fore front, I can see why people feel threatened by the so called boat people etc, that feel its their right to come here for an easy life of benefits and not contribute to the British society and in some instances don't even learn to speak our language.
What about the largely South Asian men plying our children with alcohol and drugs so that they can be passed around and repeatedly raped, I do not condone violence at all, there is ways and means to deal with these problems but enough is enough !!

Of course scenarios like the ones you mention have been exploited by people with a racist agenda. Certain people have been scapegoated and efforts made to put the fear of God in some people. That's what has happened throughout history.

It's always "I don't ..." "but ...". Presumably what is meant is that in the current situation, you do actually condone violence.

Britain is finished people here blaming others is shocking Tommyand Nigel maybe instead of blaming you yourself should take action go and collect the flags show your true side stand up for what you talk here. It’s very easy on here it’s just a blame site today.

I don't understand who you mean when you accuse people of blaming others. That's exactly what "Tommy and Nigel" and their followers always do. I do know the people who painted over the few flags which appeared on mini-roundabouts in my town. If I'd known they were doing it, I would have helped.

How awful for the poor victim and his family.

It was, sadly, inevitable that someone who die by the hands of these awful bully boys.

Here we are this Sunday in our peaceful lodge in St Osyth, but to get here we had to drive through two villages emblazoned with tarry, torn flags at half mast on every other lamp post.

We are in the middle of Farage territory.

When are people going to wake up and understand Reform and Restore are not our friends, heroes or saviours?

A pub landlord on Facebook ( who had to remain anonymous for his own safety) said how much fear he was in from people like this.

I read about this crime last week and wasn’t surprised by the person accused! How interesting that it has not been headline news has it? You know, not plastered all over the front pages or on GB news ?? I wonder why not??

Having seen the play “ Punch” this crime resonates with me somewhat ! I am beginning to despair at the behaviour of certain elements of our society egged on by the likes of Tommy Robinson( not his real name) Reform and Restore !
They do not represent me or mine or my community !

It upsets me to see the flag of my country despoiled in this way. Makes me think of the BNP and football hooligans.

They are very tatty now.

Sadly not enough! Most of their followers are of the same nasty breed!

'Billy Allison, the original founder of Raise the Colours, has been charged with murder and grievous bodily harm with intent after a man was badly beaten in a bar in Lichfield on Sunday. The victim died in hospital yesterday from his injuries'.
I'm going to feel even more sickened when I drive through the next town to my son's tomorrow and see all the scruffy bedraggled flags flying everywhere. Maybe they should all be taken down as a mark of respect for the murdered man.

They should be taken down FULL STOP.

Drove to the East Coast last Monday and, for the first time, saw a lovely avenue of trees absolutely despoiled by tatty, shredded, cheap flags hanging on lamp posts. It would cost the council a lot of money to remove these 'flags', something the perpetrators don't think of. Well, to be fair, they don't think full stop.

ronib I don't think we should be using "best guesses" in this situation. In my experience, these situations are not as simple as you describe. We don't know what led up to this tragic incident but clearly, the police have sufficient evidence against this individual to charge him with two very serious offences.

Let us hope that justice does prevail.

Yes hopefully justice will prevail, I think we could all agree on that.

Two men have too much beer, start a fight and the publican tries to stop or restrain them. The publican is hit and dies. My best guess. I would like to see hard evidence put before a judge and jury and hope that justice will prevail.

The irony that this Billy bloke was in a middle class bar in a middle class city. To say these violent men are confused, is an understatement really isn't it?!

The individuals we are seeing on the streets and marching in protest at events like the Tommy Robinson are at present targeting “Muslims”

Next year it might be Afro-Caribbean folk, or Jews or the French -

It doesn’t matter as long as they have an identifiable group to be mad at and target.

Ronib I think it is unwise to speculate as Billy Allison has been charged with murder and GBH other than to repeat what has been reported in the news.

"Allison, from Solihull, appeared before magistrates on Wednesday charged with the murder of Matthew O’Gara and causing grievous bodily harm with intent against a second man, Adam Cooper, following the violent incident at the Ricco and Loren bar in Lichfield on Sunday night. O’Gara later died in hospital from his injuries, while Cooper was discharged after treatment. Allison has been remanded into custody and is due before Stafford Crown Court."

It's of note that another prominent member of "raise the colours", Ryan Bridge was arrested ealier this year on suspicion of racially and religiously aggravated public order offences following incidents in Oxfordshire. Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest as part of an investigation into allegations of harassment and intimidation.

There have also been issues in Birmingham's Stirchley area with RTC trying to stir up racial hatred. Not very nice people are they???
