Just seen in the news that the Met re deploying 4,000 extra police officers in London tomorrow, including armoured vehicles on standby.
If they are that concerned why havenāt they taken action to stop these marches or made them into standing rallyās in contained areas?
Our beautiful capital city once more rendered a no go zone.
Added into the mix itās also the F A Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
All in the week when London has been named the number one city in the world for culture š¤¦āāļø
Thereās no difference to the organisers at all, both try hard to promote hatred of others.
No one is arguing with that.
But the difference is that the organisers of the Palestine march are not wishing to promote hatred, but a resolution to the plight of those suffering in Gaza and the West Bank.
But the organisers of the Unite demo actively seek to promote hatred. Their whole world view.

Should all these marches be stopped?
A gathering to protest about a perceived injustice is one thing but these marches seem to have taken on a life of their own and taken over our streets.

It will happen GG13 expressly because the cloth eared not listening and sneering has been going on for some time.
You were not talking about the government Oreo. When did the government sneer exactly?

If there were "innocents" on the Unite march, who didn't "see" the levels of hatred and racism, I doubt there still are.
There would definitely be some hatred and antisemitism on the other march too.

Ditto the other march.
Hatred and anti-semitism is on the increase too.
Sorry, I struggled with the spelling. Brain under a lot of strain atm.
Neat put down
But don't use it to ignore what I actually said in the rest of the post

Hope you enjoy Farage as PM in a few years then.

Well the UK and USA do have a special bond historically and peace activists have always had a special interest.
Basically, we (the UK) were in charge in the whole of Palestine at the time of Isreal's formation, and had been for a long time, along with major USA involvement.
In the late 1940's peace activists from the two countries had substantial involvement post Nakba in supporting displaced Palestinians, for although there was no doubt at the time that Jewish people deserved and needed a homeland, concerns were there "at what cost".
BTW, many young and idealist Jewish settlers were concerned for a peaceful start too - they lived alongside those who even then wanted the whole of Palestine.
I donāt need lessons on this from someone who can never spell Israel.

If there were people at the Yaxley-Lennon Hate rally who simply want to be ālistened toā and donāt support his racist views, I wonder how they feel about the dehumanisation of Muslim women, and the misogyny, on stage at the rally?
Iām not posting the link because I find it repulsive, but itās out there for all those āinnocentsā who are apparently āfearfulā to look at ⦠should they be bothered.
I canāt ask any of them myself because I donāt know anyone who attended the rally - maybe someone on here does.
Weāre all entitled to our own views. My view is that people who attend Yaxley-Lennon rallies know exactly what theyāre about, and their attendance equals support!

I've already seen it and agree it's repulsive. Even if I knew nothing about TR and his acolytes, that "show" would tell me all I needed to know.

The cloth eared are not exclusively on one side Oreo.
Oh but they are! Because the cloth eared are our present government .
No, I don't agree the government is cloth-eared. From what I've seen, they have listened, but they've reacted in the wrong way. They've tried to out-Reform Reform and ended up losing their core supporters in different directions.

I think TR has almost had his day tbh as Reform has ascended then he has descended.
Also it costs money to get to London for the day.

Sorry, 1990's re the bigger demonstrations.
I said that, only small gatherings until the 1090's.
However, as I was an activist at the time of the 6 day war and the aftermath, there were demonstrations around the country following that.
(you may be younger than me, but I was a student and recall Palestine demos around 1970-1971)

78 years since the Nakba, and it's still not resolved.
Itās not for the UK government to resolve.
Last year Yaxley Lennon's march drew a crowd of 150000.
This time the number has dropped by half.
So, if it is as some Posters are saying, not all the marchers were his supporters, it may be deduced that his movement is waning.
