The outer suburbs of Paris are in many places no-go areas or huge modern blocks of flats, yet we consider Paris a beautiful city.

I do agree with you regarding London. It is a beautiful city, and it has a fascinating and well documented history, so even the parts that are not beautiful are interesting if you dig beneath the surface appearance.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go into London for the day and NOT have to worry about violent protesters (they are not merely marching) or be afraid of getting caught up in ugly scenes?

The pro-Palestine march tomorrow will start very near to where I live. I belong to a local WattsApp group that adds information about these marches. I've never seen any complaints about the behaviour of the participants of these marches in the area where I live.

There is concern about 'the so-called Unite the Kingdom mob' who seem to be planning to be in our area.

The Muslim Council of Britain is concerned enough to issue a safety statement advising British Muslims to stay away from Central London tomorrow.

The Palestinian marches have always been peaceful. I was in London on a very hot day last year and the atmosphere, though noisy, was all about peace. I saw no trouble at all. Hundreds of thousands marched, of all religions including Jews, and no trouble.

I would not say the same for Yaxley Lennon and his thugs.

Why the police allowed their march the same day as the 75 year anniversary of nakba ( catastrophe) where 750,000 Palestinians were killed or forced to leave their homes who are, still to this day, refugees, with no right of return.

For those who still believe 7 October came out of the blue , please educate yourselves.

I actually think if the organisers had any sense of decency they’d postpone these planned marches, right at this moment in time is not the time for demos.

We are already an extremely divided, frustration, angry and restless country, I absolutely respects anyone’s right to peaceful protest, BUT as a world, as a country, we are already in an awful place.

I don’t agree with or condone any of the current well published wars in Iran, Gaza or Ukraine, but I fear these protests are badly timed.

I fear violence will erupt, I fear for our communities of both Jewish and Muslims and I just wish for a little amount of peace for them and the rest of us.

I agree with the right to protest peacefully but because some marches don't remain peaceful a huge amount of money has to be spent on policing.

I would march against the pro palestine marches, but I can't and don't want to speak for him.

I support people’s right to protest.

I also support people’s rights to go about their every day lives without fear or disruption.

If the Met are worried, I suspect they have inside information.

MaizieD the outskirts of London are not as desirable as central parts, I agree. That’s the same as major/capital cities all over the world. As much as I adore New York, it is overcrowded and filthy, even Fifth Avenue, Wall St and surrounding Central Park.

As for the football match, it’s a yearly occurrence in one area. I do hope the Chelsea and Manchester City fans are well behaved 🤞🏻

Culture takes many forms, including our national religion, football, and our freedom to protest peacefully.

London being held to be the centre of the UK universe naturally that’s where people want to go to get attention.

I’m not sure what the problem is.

It all actually is part of our culture whether we agree or not.
