Just seen in the news that the Met re deploying 4,000 extra police officers in London tomorrow, including armoured vehicles on standby.

If they are that concerned why haven’t they taken action to stop these marches or made them into standing rally’s in contained areas?

Our beautiful capital city once more rendered a no go zone.

Added into the mix it’s also the F A Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

All in the week when London has been named the number one city in the world for culture 🤦‍♀️

Thank you, Maizie, for expressing so eloquently what I've been trying to say.

Except, unlike your post, MaizieD doesn’t say there are racists on the thread.

The offensive post calling people on here racists has been removed. Mods doing a good job today. 👍

Yes, at a cost of £4.5m, and with 4000 police officers drafted in from all over the country. Well done them.

I don’t argue that a massive bill for policing is just what we don’t need, and I would have stopped any marches going ahead.
Apart from the cost these constant protests are divisive.
But if you allow one, then you have to allow others.

GrannyGravy, And I have freedom of speech to write what I don't like, despite the attempts by some to shut me down. I know what I think of people who support the Unite the Kingdom march. I am entitled to think that. To be honest, I wouldn't even dare to write it on here because I can see for myself what people are like.

You’re entitled to think what you like, as we all are, but don’t be surprised if you’re taken to task when you call others on the thread racists simply because they don’t object to British people carrying the British flag.Nobody on the thread has said they either do or don’t support the Unite protest btw.

Ah, the peace loving left.

I hope they’re arrested and thrown in jail for inciting violence.

Yes, obvs the be kind gang out in force 😉

Casdon Sat 16-May-26 18:41:37

Presumably so Kandinsky.
‘Meanwhile, new guidance issued by the Crown Prosecution Service pushed prosecutors to consider whether protest placards, banners and chants viewed on social media may amount to offences of stirring up hatred.
Specialist officers were primed to take swift decisions to arrest and charge hate speech crimes, which may include arrests for chants referring to "intifada" at the pro-Palestinian march.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said the right to protest was "a cornerstone of our democracy".
She added: "But anyone spreading hate or committing acts of violence will face the full force of the law."’

No doubt the police will issue more information about all the arrests once the marches have fully dispersed.

Chanted today by left leaning protesters.

Hang him like Mussolini, said one young women to a reporter.

The above is all over social media platforms.

Yes, and yay for facial recognition equipment too, that was a sensible move.

It should have been deployed at both marches, not to do so leave the police open to accusations of double standards.

I think it was used at Euston for both marches, the trains weren’t separate for the events, as far as I know anyway?

Anyone using a vehicle as a weapon is a danger, and should be prosecuted

On the subject of flags, one of the men caught and arrested at Euston station on his way to the march is accused of running somebody over in his van because they were taking down the union flags he had put up illegally under the banner of the Raise the Colours group, on lampposts in Birmingham.

I must admit I am rather over right = bad on the N & P threads.

The left political parties are showing their true colours at the moment.

Do you object to that? The right have been showing themselves up too - and then they deny it.
